Guest
linkThe Hawks officially signed Kyle Korver Friday to the contract he agreed to in principle last week. The unrestricted free agent guard/forward was fourth on the Hawks in points last season, his first with the team after being acquired in an offseason trade with the Bulls. Atlanta Journal-Constitution The sharp-shooting Korver attracted attention from several teams and opted for the Hawks’ four-year, $24 million offer. The deal pays him less annually than he was offered from others teams. “Kyle was a key contributor for us last season, and we’re thrilled to retain him,” Hawks general manager Danny Ferry said in a statement. “He is a tremendous competitor and an important presence for our team both on and off the court.” Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionRead more at http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#0gU5viBz2mBW46vs.99 Edited July 12, 2013 by JayBirdHawk
RonMexico
Do you think this has to do with getting more playing time here in Atlanta or he really believes in whatever Ferry sold him on?
Popular Post RWF
If a valuable vet to contenders stayed, took less money, and is on the inside of things with Ferry to get him to stay, why again is anyone questioning Ferry's vision/long term plans for this team again? On the outside looking in, you think we are losing valuable players that will destroy the team, why would someone on the inside be willing to accept Ferry's plans? Trust that he is doing everything he has been brought in to do, and help the franchise become a contender. It's not going to take 1 year to do so. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh isn't going to sign together here before the season starts. That is the only way you can rebuild an entire team in 1 season.
Ruckus
Do you think this has to do with getting more playing time here in Atlanta or he really believes in whatever Ferry sold him on?Probably a bit of both. But bottom line is he chose us and he is at the point in his career that he wants to win so he obviously liked his time here and believes in what we are doing. And if he does why shouldn't we? I keep thinking about a thread towards the end of the season and everyone was speculating he didn't like it here because of some vague comment he made. I'm on my phone but anyone else care to look it up?
Plainview1981
It's probably true about his wife wanting to stay. Last year was his best season win share wise. Edited July 12, 2013 by Hotlanta1981
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 12, 2013 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 12, 2013 The other thing is that the report says that our deal pays him less annual. What it doesn't say is that anybody else offered him a 4 yr deal. He is 30. So we give him a 4 yr 24..Other teams give him a 2 yr 15. It's simple math. At 32, Korver will prolly not be able to command what we're paying him.

Plainview1981
ZaZa seems like a great guy. ZaXa would fit well with the players the team currently has. Carroll and Millsap. Edited July 12, 2013 by Hotlanta1981

If the Hawks didn't sign a big free agent within 24-48 hours everyone would panic. We didn't miss on Dwight, Bynum is a risk, and CP3 signed with his current team. Patience is a virtue.

People have been hearing this forever though. Even though the Hawks have been playoff contenders most of the last 20 years it still feels like the Hawks are the Clippers and Warriors. BackForThe2ndTime
Not going to lie. This one doesn't make much sense. Ferry seems to be thinking and pondering EVERYTHING but doing nothing. And Korver wants to finish his prime here? Meh. Must be the wife. I hate when people use the term tank, but if that's what he's doing, hope he's honest about it with players.
