Okafor would be a backup with Tyus Jones and Muhammad. He needs to develop. What better place to develop than in Atlanta. We can then move Moose to start at the 4.

This is a trade I cooked up. Add Atlanta 2017 1st rounder going to Denver.

Denver gets: Kent Bazemore and ATL 1st 2017

Philly gets: Ricky Rubio

Minny gets: Sap and Delaney

Hawks gets: Faried, Okafor, Muhammad and Tyus Jones

Dennis/Tyus
Tim/Kyle/Muhammad/Bembry
Thabo/Prince
Faried/Moose/Scott/Kelly(likely cut in the next week)
Dwight/Okafor/Splitter

But I think you say that this draft is a very good one and we shouldn't trade any of our picks, but if I were GM I would try to go to Nuggets or Suns since they had good young pieces or picks that can be used.  Plus Phoenix is a place that will make Sap better since their medical team is the best in the business.

True, getting Faried would be a solid win now move for Bazemore if we traded Sap. That said, it's unlikely.

It's probably best to trade Sap. Get young players like Okafor and Tyus Jones. Use our 1st and cap to get a PF for the future

His PP makes him extremely hard

Funny. @Dolfan23 said the same thing... But because he couldn't keep it to himself while at the playground, he's "indisposed" for awhile *ahem*awaiting trail*ahem*

Why would we want Okafor in Atlanta? He can't play with Howard. He also has no defensive or rebounding ability.

I am prepared for the Celtics to offer us some crap like Zeller, Amir Johnson and some mid range picks for Millsap.

I think that's a lot better than what they'd really offer. I figured it'd be more like Olynyk (a/k/a Oh-Licky per Nique) and a 2nd rounder in 2022. F Ainge.

I highly doubt it. If anything he'd excercise it. He'd be the top FA PF since Blake will stay with LAC.

He's going to want that 30+ mil a year max. With the cap rise, somebody will have the money for him if ATL doesn't want to pay it.

It's totally possible but I'm still not going to be surprised if he sticks around and comes up with a halfway tolerable deal. He's given us a break in the past - not a huge break, but notable - and he might do something like that this go 'round. I know that it's his last chance at a big deal, and I wouldn't blame him for getting as much as he can. I still think that he might realize he has a good situation and the teams that might offer him the most in FA might not be so good, and there's nothing worse than being on a crummy team year after year. Especially if this team finally gets it together and the chemistry starts clicking; we've already seen glimpses of what they can do and accomplish. Plus, Bud may foresee a full-on collapse w/o Sap and ownership likely wants to avoid that at all costs, and it's possible we won't get offered anything decent for a him, so Bud may just want to ride it out and hope for the best.  I understand both sides of it and I could see really anything happening. Not trying to pull a Supes with a "this team will win between 30-60 games" thing; I just don't think it's as easy as "We let Al walk and got nothing so we have to move Sap." I think Bud likes him a lot and probably wants him to stay, there's a lot at risk, the chemistry may be slowly gelling which could appeal to Sap, and we may not get offered enough to pull the trigger.  And the reports say that they are "not actively" trying to move him but have agreed to listen to offers, so ... could be anything. Just sayin.

Sorry, the language is "not openly shopping" Sap instead of "not actively shopping" ... they're "taking calls" which doesn't necessarily mean that ATL is the one that initiated the calls. Just trying to keep the correct perspective here; if we do move him I want it to be a great deal for ATL just like everyone else here. (And I hope they can find a taker for Baze while they're at it.)

The Atlanta Hawks have begun listening to trade pitches for All-Star forward Paul Millsap in recent days, according to league sources. S‎ources told ESPN.com that the Hawks, fearful of losing Millsap in free agency without compensation in the summer, are not openly shopping him but are taking calls on the 31-year-old and other pending free agents, notably sharpshooter Kyle Korver and swingman Thabo Sefolosha.

As I assumed, the media is leaking possible trades and it seems as though we get fleeced in every deal. I hate them all in this particular article. They leave us with no solid building blocks just a bunch of role players.

I'm sorry but I have a problem dealing a top 30 NBA player, a three time all star and one of the best power forwards in the NBA in Millsap for a bunch of 8th and 9th men riding pine.

I think we can gel as a team and continue building our chemistry as a unit and head to the playoffs on a good note. Of course if a deal comes along that includes a rising player like a LaVine or McCollum then I'd trade SAP but I'm not trading him for Mason Plumlee and Noah Vonleh...lol...sorry if that's all I'm getting I'll risk Sap walking for nothing in the summer.

But if I seem to remember correctly, he was someone Bud wanted to move up to get in that draft? At least he's still a developing talent.

Yes I also remember the reports saying the Hawks wanting to move up to the 3rd slot in the 2015 draft to draft either Mudiay or Okafor. I honestly think though that it was a sneaky way to move up and draft Kristaps Porzingis because we had our eye on him in the 2014 draft process where in a few mocks we were projected to take Porzingis at the 15th pick.

I will say that I don't think either Mudiay nor Okafor are Bud type guys but then again I didn't think Dwight was either. We should stay patient and let teams come to us, meanwhile stay focused and dominate on the court.

Trade for Tyus Jones and Okafor

Start Moose.

Draft Rabb, Zona PF, Giles or Hartenstein

Resign Thabo, Moose and Tim. Let Kyle walk or trade him before ASB.

It seems you want to have some more German dudes here at the Squawk

You my dog but I'm circling an petition to get @NBASupes bannt for suggesting we start Muscala.

Muscala to start?!  hWhat?!

In fairness, he does want a wing for Sap which leaves a hole at PF.   Then he wants to miss the playoffs and tank for a pick.

So I see a certain logic in those goals.

See that's why you're a mod, AHoleF.  That totally went by me.  Supers with that stealth tank logic.  Sneaky mofo.

Dont trade Millstar/Allsapp. We are in the middle of picking our selves up with an 11-6 streak, we do extremely good against the top-NBA teams and we have the type of players in the type of roles for playoff basketball.

But is it fool's gold tho.  We'll face more bad teams than good ones.  We do not beat bad teams consistently.

More so another big. But yeah, we would have a hole at the 4 but no matter who we trade for, we would have an instant hole at the 4. Getting someone like Chriss or Okafor gives us a young player we can mold in our system.

I personally think we should keep this team together but if we can land Okafor or Chriss and Ulis or Tyus Jones. Why not? Jones has good backup potential and Chriss and Okafor can be molded like Tim and others was molded.

Oh my .... Tim Duncan was Tim Duncan before he got to San Antonio.  Yes, they developed him but he was great before he left Wake.  The idea that Okafor or Chriss can be molded into that is laughable.  Can Okafor score?  Sure but he doesn't do much more than that.  Chriss is useless for atleast the next 3 years w.r.t. winning and even then it's a crapshoot.

You're better than this, Supers.

Tim Hardaway Jr and numerous others on our team have been developed. Why is it so hard to understand that. Even a lot of Spurs developed in San Antonio
