Spurs East

Just saw a comment under a John Collins video which I very much agree with.

The Hawks' roster build is very Spurs alike.

Schröders game is very much like Tony Parkers game.

Prince is Kawhi-lite.

John Collins skillset is comparable to Tim Duncan.

Green and THJ arent that much alike.

But still overall it seems that we're building our starting 5 the Spurs way.

Let's just hope it works just as good as it did in SA

Schröder's Game is nothing like Parker's game.

Hey... let's let the dust clear.  I got a feeling that there's more to come and it won't be what we see now in the end.  So we can stop making up Matchups.  Moreover, that San Antonio team is really just one guy.  Duncan.  A generational talent that does not exist in this league right now.

@Wurider05, I'm not one of those ready to pronounce us as anything but the Atlanta Hawks for the moment, but that doesn't prescribe that the Spurs East label has been washed out of the system. Indeed, it's my hope it hasn't, insofar as it reflects the Spurs rep for developing players that we'd seemingly gained a similar regard for.

Seeing how you are new around here I will go easy on you. That Spurs East crap is no longer allowed on this site. We are the Atlanta Hawks. You have been warned.

I'm actually already around here since 2014. At least that's when I started reading this board.

And yeah I read that we're the Hawks thread.

At the end of the day it is how it is.

To me the team and the office is build like the spurs whatever way you want to turn it.

And contradictory to Diesel I see the resemblances in the starting 5.

And no its not insulting. Collins and Duncans game offensively spoken is very much alike. Defensively we can't tell because Collins wasn't told to play d to this point. Sure 99% that Collins won't become the player Duncan was. But still he has a similar style. Same counts for Prince and Kawhi pre jumpshot. Clearly Prince is still very raw.

And please tell me how Parker and Dennis game aren't alike. I sincerely would like to know. Moreover I'd like to know who you find is comparable to Dennis. You'd probably go for some dleague scrub but lmk

Naturally, wherever someone comes from, some of their former employers

thoughts and ideas will follow them.  Ours, the Atlanta Hawks, people come

from winning teams.  No one should be shocked when some comparisons are

made.  Children usually have traits that reflect their parents, both mom and dad.

Hawks are their own team.  They are not someone's else's.  Still, the parents

here are from the Spurs and Golden State.

If we look closely, we should see traces of these two parent teams.  Hopefully,

what we see is the good and not the bad traits.  To deny that there is any

resemblance is to deny who the parents are.

Are we exactly like those teams?  Heck no.  We are the Atlanta Hawks.  Still,

we hear, "She has her mother's eyes" or "He gets his big ears from his dad."

So, if we look closely, hopefully we will see some of those winning traits that

come from our great leaders former teams.

Shocker that the guy living in "east Texas" (and @sturt knows what I mean by that) doesn't want to be labeled as being east anything. If you had grown up there you probably wouldn't have even been able to put a whole sentence together.
