The Warriors are on more than any team besides the Lakers?????? Why? They’ve been irrelevant for over 2 years now. It’s not the same roster. Livingston and Iggy are gone, well Iggy is back, 2 years older, Draymond is older and even slower, same with Curry and Klay has played a month of basketball in 3 years by the time the season rolls around. Give the Mavs and Warriors multiple chances but make the Hawks earn their keep annually. You know if we underachieve this year they show us less next year automatically. Ugh. I hear you but kg always roots for chaos, sun. I'm all here for watching the Warriors age right before our very eyes.
Popular Post TheNorthCydeRises
While being on NBA TV is nice, I don't count that as "National TV". Mainly because NBA TV games don't have a "special" feel to them, in terms of presentation. NBA TV tends to either have their in-studio hosts or the cringe worthy Players Only broadcast teams ( also within the NBA TV studios ) doing commentary. Or they just flat out use the home team's broadcast with the home team's announce team, and just show the game on NBA TV. So to me, we only have 14 National TV games ESPN - 9 TNT - 4 ABC - 1 Not surprised that we're heavy on the ESPN games. If we're going to be on National TV, that's the most likely place. Only having 4 TNT games is a little shocking, seeing how well we played when we were on TNT during the playoffs, and the fact that TNT is based in Atlanta. But that's the other element. The Hawks are only at home during 5 of the 14 National TV broadcasts ( Mavs, Bucks, Nets, Celtics, Sixers ). This is obviously playing up to the "Trae as the villain" narrative that they drummed up during the Knicks series. They could of at least given us one of those Knicks home games to be on ESPN or TNT. Instead, both Knicks road games will either be on ESPN or TNT. Using that as the criteria, let's compare that to the other teams in the East: Nets - ( 23 ) ESPN - 8 TNT - 11 ABC - 4 Bucks - ( 25 ) ESPN - 10 TNT - 10 ABC - 5 Celtics - ( 22 ) ESPN - 11 TNT - 7 ABC - 4 Knicks - ( 22 ) ESPN - 12 TNT - 7 ABC - 3 Sixers - ( 16 ) ESPN - 7 TNT - 7 ABC - 2 Heat ( 10 ) ESPN - 5 TNT - 5 ABC - 0 I can understand why the Knicks and Celtics would get more "real" National TV games than us. TD Garden and Madison Square Garden are great basketball crowd environments when those teams are decent. That may be one reason why Boston and New York got more games on TNT than us. And for ESPN/ABC, that's an easier commute to go to NYC or Boston, than it is to go to Atlanta. To the networks, it's not necessarily about putting the best games on. It's about putting the teams on that will draw the most eyeballs, whether they're top notch teams or not. They feel that the Hawks aren't quite a "box office" attraction yet. They don't believe that NBA fans will watch a game to SEE the Hawks, as opposed to having a "big market" team PLAY the Hawks. It sounds like the same thing, but there is a difference. That's why 9 of these 14 National TV games are on the road.

Honestly, it seems like a cop out the league uses to pretend off-brand teams get national tv games too.
