Cam is definitely  the 3rd best player we have now.

As for whether he should start, I'm fine with whichever philosophy. Let him be a 6th man/psuedo stater that gets to hunt for his offense, OR sit down Kev who I think offers us less when he isnt on, is a worse defender and looks more and more like an offensive specialist going forward than a 2 way starter. (More Reddick than Hayward)

I think no matter the decision going forward, Cam has earned the same minutes that were handed to Kev and Dre.

No wonder we are one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Are you saying that Cam hasn't earned serious playing time with his 2020 play on both sides of the ball?  Or are you dismayed by the ambivalence of the post with regard to whether he should be starting or coming off the bench?  Or something else (hopefully Cam related and not driven by some other topic)?

IMO, Cam represents our best wing over the last two months of play.  If I were coach, I would look to start him next year at the latest absent some dramatic trade or FA move this offseason.

He would not be getting much playing time on a winning team.

Hold up you changed your avatar dang. The blue thing was better it had me on high alert. Now I’m confusing you with Budball and having to actually read. 🤔

My move I guess 👩‍⚕️

No good team could use strong perimeter defense combined with his recent numbers:

16.4 PTS, 3.4 REB, 1.5 AST, 1.2 STL. 0.5 BLK
.500 FG%, .833 FT%, .421 3PT%

Right?

You mean one with exceptional talent, can guard 1-3, at 6'9 with a 7'1 wingspan? No way!

Cam Reddish for the past 30 days:
11 Games, 28:54 Minutes per game.
.500 FG%, .833 FT%, .421 3PT%, 16.4 PTS, 3.4 REB, 1.5 AST, 1.2 STL, 0.5 BLK

Coby White for the past 30 days:
11 Games, 33:54 Minutes per game
.456 FG%, .905 FT%, .398 3PT%, 23.7 PTS, 3.9 REB, 4.5 AST, 1.1 STL, 0.2 BLK

Kendrick Nunn for the past 30 days:
12 Games, 27:34 Minutes per game
.437 FG%, .882 FT%, .375 3PT%, 15.0 PTS, 2.5 REB, 2.8 AST, 0.8 STL, 0.2 BLK

RJ Barrett for the past 30 days:

.421 FG%, .627 FT%, .289 3PT%, 16.3 PTS, 4.5 REB, 2.7 AST, 0.8 STL, 0.0 BLK

I think the next NBA Rookie Ladder is about to pay Reddish a little respect.

Considering his defense is leaps and bounds better than those guys, it sure should.

Coby White can shoot the rock. I don't know if he's ready to run the point at a high level but he can put the ball in the basket.

For the past 30 days, I would say Ja or Coby at PG and Reddish at SG for the all rookie team. Hunter is rebounding like a mad man ( 7.4 ) and shooting great with a .404 3PT% for the past 30 days. Hunter has a valid case in my opinion for 1st team SF and should at least be the 2nd team SF over that 30 day time period.

It looks like Schlenk was playing chess once again; while everyone else was playing checkers 👍

Ja hit a wall a few weeks ago but is picking it up once again. Plus his overall season long performance is still stellar.

Ja has really hit a wall but his overall season long performance is still stellar.

For the season, Ja is a no brainer.  Coby plays more of what I think of as a "combo guard" role rather than a true point but he has been on fire with his shooting.  Reddish and Hunter should be climbing those lists given their play (2020 for Reddish and more of the last days for Hunter who was the better of the two early).

Ja will likely get a chance to show his wares in the playoffs which is huge for him. If JJJ and BC are full go that is not going be an easy out.

I'd like to add that Cam has two injury games in his totals. I'm sure he is closer to 18 or 19 pts per game if you take those out. With excellent efficiency to boot.

Cam and Coby.  Maybe they will be able to contribute to winning by the time they are 25.

You are obsessive compulsive about this 25 - 30 year old contribution to winning thing. What 25 - 30 year old All Stars do you think the Hawks can attract? We have money next season, do you think AD will come here just because you want him too?

I wish the Hawks management lived in your fantasy world where Atlanta was the prime destination for every 25 - 30 year old All-Star that became a UFA. Unfortunately the best we have done in over 3 decades is Paul Millsap after he had a down year in 2012/13; and JJ who was done with the Suns ownership and wanted to run his own team ( be the man ).

Its like you think we have drafted almost all of our best players because we don't want LeBron, AD, KAT, Durant etc... Every GM in their right mind wants them; but small markets do not get them. Get over it or go make the Lakers or Clippers your favorite team. That is really all there is to it.
