  1. Looked like the best out of three defensive wings tonight.
  2. My guess is we will be rotating who gets minutes at backup C. Expect to see more Pero or more Payne next game. Brand is too old to be our primary option off the bench at C.
  3. Not a bad first game. This team will take some time to gel, as we have a lot of new faces on the team including Al Horford who hasn't played in a real game for almost a year. Loved how Al looked in the second half; encouraging sign that he will be able to shake off the rust sooner rather than later. Teague was ballin' in the fourth quarter and if he had gotten a couple of more calls going into the lane then maybe we actually snatch this one. I think Toronto is gonna finish either third or fourth in the East, so I think considering we were playing against a quality opponent and on their home-opener it was a nice job overall.
  4. Kudos on the fantastic thread! Color me pumped for the beginning of the season. After seeing my beloved Falcons get their wings clipped this year I'm ready to put that behind me and focus on these other birds who in my mind are poised to surprise both experts and fans alike with their play this season. Going to be watching on Ballstreams and chatting under DrLongshot in case anyone else is watching games on there.
  5. I like Horford's face up game more. His shot is so lethal that Centers are either forced to overplay or give him an open look, which gives him a big advantage, especially when he is in at Center and bigger slower players are forced to guard him.
  6. Is that Pierce?? Oh man; I could watch this all day lol
  7. Let's call them the team that shall not be named. So heartbreaking how terrible they've become again.
  8. I was chatting with the Bulls fans on the ballstreams chat during the preseason game and they all gushed about Thabo; saying how they wish they had never let him go. This could be one of the more underrated moves this season, just like the Korver contract and the Sap signing were. Dude has been lights out during preseason.
  9. Well, the Hawks are now Atlanta pro sports last hope. I for one think they will surprise a lot of people this year with their play.
  10. The way both Thabo and Jenkins have looked does not bode well for Bazemore's minutes.
  11. Evaluating team performance in preseason is pointless. These are exhibition games that mean nothing. The only thing I'm interested in in preseason is seeing how young guys such as Mus and Schro and the new guys like Thabo and Baze look out there. I'm sure the coaching staff is working on specific things with specific players and group of players out there that takes precedence over actually winning these games. That goes for all teams playing right now, so I wouldn't put any stock in how these games play out as far as predicting what is going to happen during the season.
  12. Thabo continues his strong play and Schröder off to a very nice start. If those two guys continue this level of play it will make our bench a lot better than last years.
  13. Have looked everywhere and couldn't find a stream
  14. There's a saying were I come from that states: Stats are like thongs, they show everything except what's essential.
  15. I thought it was pretty good. He didn't stand out but I don't think he got abused either.
  16. I watched the game and thought it was the best game Schröder has had that I've seen. Played under control, got to the hole almost at will and made good sound decisions with the basketball. If he can keep this up he'll be giving Mack; who has not looked very impressive, a run for his money.
  17. If the guy continues to rebound at the rate he has done the first couple of games he should be a very valuable player for us off the bench regardless of how he fares offensively. If he starts hitting that three though, than we can kiss Pero's minutes good-bye.
  18. Amen... RIP NFL 2K; you were so much better than Madden.
  19. I think while he probably won't be as horrible as he was last season, we are still at least a couple of years away before we see Dennis contributing significantly to this team.
  20. Thabo is another one of the guys that knows how to play hard every night. People thought signing Korver was not a great move at first and now everyone agrees he has been one of the better value signings in the NBA. Let's wait and see how Thabo does before we crucify this move.
  21. Did an excellent job according to who exactly? Their defensive efficiency was worse than ours that year, his block rate was lower than Horford's. Asik struggled to get PT this year up until the playoffs and Houston was getting smoked with him on the floor. The guy hasn't been a presence in the middle on defense since Chicago, every team and individual stat you could possibly find will back that up.
  22. Asik hasn't done much on that end since leaving the Bulls
  23. He is a very good rebounder, but that's it. He can't shoot Fts at all, and his block rate% is actually lower than Horford's the last several seasons. Rebounding is nice, but as his been stated, just sign someone like Humphries who can give you those rebounding numbers without a 15 million dollar price tag. You should be competing for All Star bids not for PT when you are making that much. Horrible value, not worth what he would give us.
  24. He's worth half that at most.
