  1. So pumped up after this win. We all should be excited. The Antić/West incident was Zaza/Garnett all over again. This series is reminding me of the Indy vs Atl series when we had Manning and we were the higher seed but lost to Indy due to lack of chemistry after the trade. Indy is going through that right now. Hopefully we keep it up for game 2. Go Hawks.
  2. went with other because all those guys are not that great and monroe is a forward not center in my opinion
  3. I would love to hear what you think once you do, they do mostly talk about G'town and Syracuse
  4. I hear you and I really don't feel like doing the leg work on the research, but besides national titles would like to see overall records, head to head records in the tourny, final top 25 rankings, how many teams in the tournament in relation to teams in each conference, strength of each conference for each year, most final fours, etc. This starting from 79 to last year that would be good a gauge on which conference is better. The only reason the big east kept adding teams towards the end was to keep the football schools happy and to get more money coming into the conference.
  5. We get it you love the ACC, I love the Big East. Maybe the ACC is better but I don't care the title of the thread was Requiem of the Big East not the Requiem of the ACC. I wanted to discuss the doc from last night not the history of the ACC. I appreciate the ACC but I would much rather watch Big East basketball.
  6. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I liked the Big East the best. I always felt the ACC was top heavy and didn't have to go through the rigors of a Big East schedule. I'm not here to argue the ACC. I loved the Big East and still do, the way they played basketball is what I appreciated. Some don't like the physical style and like the ACC and that is fine we can discuss that when they do a 30 for 30 on the ACC. It's good they have strong football programs or they could be going the route of the Big East.
  7. Great 30 for 30 last night on ESPN with the Requiem for the Big East. Growing up in the early 80's this is how I was brought up on basketball. I still think this was the best conference in college basketball. Huge Georgetown fan and I loved the rivalry angle with Syracuse (plenty of discussions with Dolfan on this one) also love the sweater game with the Johnnies and the painful Villanova loss. It's too bad greed and football destroyed this great basketball conference. There was a sign in the stands during the documentary from last year's Big East Tourny that read "You can take my conference but you can't take my memories!" Amen it was bittersweet. I'm going to miss the high intensity games the Big East always had with one another.
  8. I still can't figure out how Mike Scott wasn't invited to the rising stars game, but Pero was? I'm happy Pero is going just thought Mike would go before him.
  9. LeBron James to go along with what we already have and have coming.
  10. Merry Christmas to everyone! Enjoy the day with your family and friends. Go Hawks!
  11. Happy Days are Here Again! Not that I root for anyone to get hurt, but wow what a break for the Hawks (pun attended). Brook Lopez out for the rest of the year with a broken foot. This has to help our status of getting a high draft pick from the Nets. Go Hawks!
  12. Interesting article in the Orlando Sentinel yesterday by columnist Mike Bianchi. I would post it but you have to have a paid subscription to read it. Listening to local (orlando area) and national radio (Dan Lebatard on ESPN) yesterday they went over the article. To sum up the article it was wether a team should tank or not. Bianchi did some research for this article, stating that since the draft lottery teams that finish with 25 wins or less in a year and are in the draft lottery have a 10% chance of contending for an NBA title (one of the final eight teams) over the next five years after they won 25 or less. Teams that finish with 34 to 49 wins have a 20% chance of contending for an NBA title over the next five years after they won their 34 to 49 wins. This has been a hot topic here in Orlando as the fan base thinks there is no way to contend by tanking each year. It just goes to show that tanking isn't the be all in all to build a champion. There are many options and with Bianchi's research it shows you tanking might be the worst option out of all of them.
  13. They will probably be televised on the opposite teams network, if you have the League Pass, since there is no home team feed.
  14. Bring them all on Dolfan! As much as I hate FSU I have to admit they look impressive. Can't wait to play them on Nov.2. Boy if we win our recruiting class is going to be something else. We already have a top 5 class, but we may sway some FSU kids to get a real education at the U. Get 12 days off rest Morris ankle and North Carolina can be next on Thursday. Go Canes!
  15. Nervous about the game myself. I do like how some of our injured guys are going to play this week (Wake and Solia). I just know its hard to beat the Saints at home, just like the Falcons. It will be another good test. Let's keep proving the critics wrong. The team has just been fun to watch so far this year and I have found myself as excited as I have ever been to watch the games each week. Who Dat beat the Saints - Dolphins just did on Monday night. Let's do it!
  16. Sorry I joined this party late. I was in Vegas for the weekend betting on my beloved Dolphins, along with a lot of other games. A homer bet. So proud of the Fins. If you looked at the box score you would have had no clue the Dolphins won. What's great about the win, is that good teams find ways to win games they shouldn't have won. Another building block for the Dolphins the team is upcoming and building momentum as the season continues.
  17. Another step in the right direction for the U!!!! Now if the NCAA can finally give us our penalties so we can move on. This is only going to help recruiting. Awesome win today.
  18. Not Good. This will follow him for awhile.
  19. Are we talking David? Is he going back to ESPN?
  20. a real tear jerker, I think I would rather watch layup starring Jeff Teague
  21. We also got Jenkins and Carrol on the roster as well those guys could switch between 2/3
  22. Screw George, lets get LeBron if he opts out. Settles our SF need and he DF already have relationship. Shoot high, I know its never going to happen. Just let me enjoy the thought for a few seconds.
  23. Ferry doesn't drink beer, but when he does its Dos Equis. Love his commercials, now I know Ferry is the most interesting man in the world.
  24. It's funny how everyone that says we can trade Teague if we match, but don't think we can trade Korver on the same amount of years and less money who shoots significantly better than Teague. This board will make you lose your mind.
