To me this is exactly why Woody is such a bad playoff coach. Bud went to the tape and said hey here is how you exploit these guys and here is how you shut them down. Woody just does the same thing game after game regardless of what the competition is doing. In his defense, could you stock a team with more head cases and one dimensional players.

Man that would be the best. To get a lottery pick without actually being in the lottery. We need to pull hard for the Nets to tank. Unfortunately there is going to be too much tanking competition in the East. The nets have too much talent to be THAT bad.

I saw Greg Maddux against Curt Schilling in a game that lasted i think an hour and 50 minutes. Braves lost 1-0 and Schilling had 17 strikeouts i think. It was a terrible horrible game for a braves fan but still a hall of fame matchup that you don't see very often. I was at Chipper Jones bobble head night last year which was friggin an awesome game for the braves and chipper.

What's the big deal about Asik. As i've seen other's say this is a guy who has been an nba starter for a whole one year and now is a malcontent because the team added a player at his position who is 10 times better than him. Doesn't sound like a guy i want to trade a bunch of assets for. Especially when he doesn't bring our most serious need which is a scorer.

Are the Falcons still playing? Can we have a do over on which Atlanta team we give our tax dollars to. I prefer the playoff one that plays 10 times more games.

There was a lot of summer and pre-season discussion on this board about Dennis already being better than Teague. Geez. That's not looking so good is it? Every player has some weaknesses. Teague is ballin. He's scoring different ways. He's hitting his guys with good passes. Just because he's not throwing behind the back or high traffic bounce passes doesn't mean he isn't a good distributor.

You know that was my first reaction until I saw that he's been out 10 months. That seems about right. Rose has made everyone's recovery expectation get out of whack i think. Still I hope he's comfortable because it he's guarding it that's when you get hamstring and other injuries right?

You mean you think they will try to make the playoffs? I wouldn't put it past Charlotte to try. Philly i think is smarter than that and i just don't see where the Bucks have anything other than a good coach. I've been wrong plenty. Although never about the Wiz. Every year people predict the Wiz will be good and I say they will suck. They've made me look smart on that so far.

Aaron Affalo. Although the Magic may want to keep him but he is ballin this year. He's in his prime. Teague/AA/milsap/horf is a friggin great lineup. You could go KK/Martin or DMC at the 3. I think he's the missing piece

A lot of these players are journeymen. We don't have to be exactly like SA to be successful. We are missing a big 2 who can shoot. In actuality we may be missing a starting 2 and 3 who can shoot. Then we'd have a second unit of Dennis/Lou/Korver. But if we get a big 2 who can shoot the ball I'm ok with KK starting at the 3. Bud isn't going anywhere for a while. You can already tell he's a good head coach.

perimeter defense is a problem but we should have outscored the Knicks. We missed too many shots that Lou could have made. Just looking at that one game as an example. I don't htink Lou's defense would have been that much worse because it sucked anyway. But our offensive options would have been a lot better.

Wow. That would be crazy good luck. Still i see no way they fall out of the playoffs. There just aren't more than 8 playoff teams in the east. Bucks, sixers, celtics, orlando, and charlotte are all a lock to not even try for the playoffs. That leaves Wiz, Cavs, Toronto, and Detroit all 'competing' for the final two lottery spots in the east. I just can't see the Hawks, Knicks, or Nets being able to play bad enough to get in the lottery. This is going to be a crazy season. Still I like the way your thinking. That would be awesome if it pans out.

Gortat and the Wizards are the two most overrated things in the league.

It appears to be the case but i don't know for sure. on hawks.com it only lists radio. Guess they didn't realize this would be a matchup of the number 3 and 4 teams in the east.

I think we could have used Brand also. I like that Coach Bud isn't playing this like its game 7 though. LD and Woody played every game like it was their last or like we were in desperation mode. Yeah i would have liked to have won but i'm not convinced playing Horford 40 minutes would have made that happen. We still look like a very confident team, a team that believes it can beat anybody and so far we've been right there with everyone.

I didn't think i'd say this but give Woody some credit. He exploited our biggest weakness which is perimeter D. We didn't do a great job exploiting their's which is lack of defensive bigs. Still a close game could have gone either way. I'm not reading too much into it other than the days of getting embarrased on national tv may be over for the Hawks. We got beat by their other players not by Melo.

The 'business' aspect is getting tired though. This isn't a free market enterprise. They don't play by the same rules that real businesses have to play by and in exchange they should have some responsibilities to the people that have supported them for decades. I feel like they struck now at a mayor who didn't care and didn't have the political clout left to push through more sports welfare programs. They knew this which is why they went at this time. Because they knew they'd have a ton of excuses to lob and no opposition at city hall.

We need a starting 2 that's for sure. I don't want anymore power forwards. I'm not sure Jenkins would get us anything though.

So much blame to go around and i'm not absolving the city or the dumb mayor but you would think the Braves organization would have done something for the area in 50 years. Whatever. Its a terrible move all the way around. If they had moved somewhere sensible i wouldn't be as upset but this will be a typical Atlanta boondoggle and the blame will ultimately be misplaced.
