Premium Member Diesel Posted December 21, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 21, 2005 What's your starting 5 for the Hawks... Don't be bashful!
Plainview1981
The question is will Harrington be resigned? If he is the Hawks should look into getting Dan Gad from the Bucks... As a shot block near 7 footer he should work well with the undersized Al Harrington... If not, he should be traded in the Nene/Watson deal. Watson JJ Smoove Williams Nene Or Lue JJ Smoove Harrington Dan Gad I actually think the secound lineup would be better. But what would it cost to get Dan? jezmund
I, personally, think both Watson and Gadzuric are overpaid. Watson is not $30M better than Ivey and certainly not $15-18M better than Lue. Didn't Gadzuric get like $40M? Hmmm...
exodus
Gadz signed a deal this past summer, about $6 mil/yr I believe.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted December 21, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 21, 2005 Watson and Gadz both make "average" salaries. Since they're "average" players, I think it's fitting. (Gadzuric's contract is TOO long for my tastes). Lue makes $3.5M/year, which I think is fitting for his level of production. The difference? Defense.
Plainview1981
Well, having an undersized Pf increases the need for a taller shot blocking center... Sorta like the Hendu/Deke combo. Of course Dan isn't even close to Deke's level.. But I hope you see my point... Since Al isn't that good of a rebounder I would expect that he'd do the scoring and Dan would do the rebounding and some shot blocking and so they would feed off each other. shock
in my opinion, they future of this teams starting lineup will be jj at sg, marvin at sf, and smoove at pf.
Premium Member Diesel Posted December 21, 2005 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted December 21, 2005 Why not propose getting Foyle? Delk/Thomas/2nd can get us Foyle.
Packfill
Foyle's contract is an abomination. The Hawks want no part of that.
Premium Member Diesel Posted December 21, 2005 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted December 21, 2005 Compared to what some are willing to pay Nene, Foyle is making poverty money. This year Foyle is making 5.5 million with 6.05 million next year. I don't think that's an abomination in comparison to 6 yr 64 million that Nene wants. Traceman
not necessarily the same. Best case, he MIGHT get the $55M that Curry got from NY over 5 years. I'll bet he gets more like $50M over 5 years starting around $8M a season. He will be coveted by some teams who need big men but no one values him as much as Chandler, Dalembert or even Curry. Nene is definitely worth twice as much as Foyle. Foyle will be 31 soon and Nene just turned 23. Nene has scored more than Foyle in every year he's been in the league. They rebound at about the same clip. the only thing Foyle has over Nene is shotblocking and Foyle's shotblocking has been going down every year. Smoove blocks more shots than Foyle does now.
