FA: Cato mentions Atl.

Cato, 31, will become a free agent this summer, confident that he still will be in the league somewhere next season.

"There are just so few big guys available now, and a lot of teams are looking for centers,'' he said.

"I can still help someone -- Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, L.A., Seattle, they all need another center. I hope I have a decision to make this summer.''

He's huge, plays defense, is from Atl, but hasn't had the greatest history. He might be an option, but at what price?

Try for Ben Wallace 1st. If we cant get him we can turn to Kato or maybe even Scott Pollard. If we have to overpay for Pollard or Kato then forget it.

I'd love to add Cato. He's not a saviour or anything, but he is a legit big man, and we don't have a lot of them. He would be our only defensive presence at center on day one, and that would be a huge addition for us.

You could get Cato for about the same as you got Zaza, which would pretty much be the market. 4 years 16 million. He's not Ben Wallace defensively but at 4 million, it would be a much greater value than the 12-15 million Wallace will command.

I think a lot of players of Cato's caliber will mention Atl as a destination. We have multiple needs, and money to sign players. Anybody who wants a bigger payday will want some attention from Atlanta.

I like him because he plays D. If we are unable to add another young center, Cato or The Kandy Man would be a nice stop gap to help us until we find one. I wouldn't give either more than 5 million a year though.
