Poll: 2003 offseason, what do you look forward to?

Draft Day ?? Not unless Hawks happen to land high in

the lottery, which is unlikely. Otherwise, we don't have

one very high.

Jason Terry's re-signing? He may be gone. Crazy as it

sounds, too many people are against J.T.

There seems to be a feeling that he can't be a point guard

and he is too short to be a #2 guard. If this is true, why

keep him?

I don't subscribe to this belief, but some do.

Free agency? Hawks are already over the cap so we can't

play in that game.

Pete Babcock? That is something of interest. Will the

Hawks owners keep him? Will they even keep the Hawks?

If things change, when will it happen and what will it be?

Also, trades in the off season will hinge on the owners and

who is the VP/GM of the team?? Do we, the Hawks, have

anyone that other teams want that we can get a reasonable

return from trading? Who will remain as bench players?

Will Hawks tear down what they have now? Will they add

a new coach or keep T.S. ? Will we add extra coaches?

Can we upgrade the very weak scouting department?

So many questions that need answers. The off season is

sooooooo long and we are already worrying about it and

the present season is still a part of our world.

I want the team to be sold to someone who is passionate about it who'll hire the right basketball minds to run it.

Then, we'll be fine. We have some pieces. Plenty of people know that.

I'd love to land a lottery pick though. This year more than ever.

If he's got the financial backing to support a team over the long haul, then that group may be the group to get it done.

However, I think AOL ideally wants to sell the rights to all three teams to the same people as well as the Turner South and maybe the TBS aspect of the company.

I'm not sure the Belkin group will be interested in ALL OF THAT.

If it did happen though, then Larry Bird would run the everyday basketball operations of the team. ML Carr would run the public relations aspect of the franchise, which means longtime Hawks PR man Lee Douglas would be out of a job.

I think there is a higher probability of the Hawks/Braves/Thrashers going from one corporate owner to another or not being sold at all than there is of AOL separating the teams.
