Chillz has to be willing to return with us and Andersen is surely on his way at the perfect time!

The way Rick Sund is going seems like he's not worried about getting Flip back. I mean I would love for him to return but with the

addition of crawford, teague, and bibby coming back, Im pretty sure he's last on our list to get. Marv is next, and then Im thinking

we are going to get childress for backup small forward for marv and thats going to be great. I just cant see chillz returning to a

team (bucks) he know isnt even probably going to the playoffs next year. Chillz can make plays without the ball (we've all seen

what he can do). Then theres andersen, he will come cheaper than any other big man left(have you seen this kid he's a way better

scorer than zaza, he's like a little okur! not sure about his defense though but atleast he can help with scoring. Hey its either him,

morris or solo.....................uhhhhh yeah i thought so, andersen come on down!!!) With that said look at our lineup! Do you think

we can compete for the championship cause i sure do! With this lineup we actually have some depth ATL!!!

Predictable lineup for 09-10: (starters/backups)

pg-bibby/crawford/teague

sg-johnson/evans/crawford

sf-williams/childress/evans

pf-smith/andersen/marv

c-horford/zaza/morris or solo

ATL LOOK AT THAT DEPTH. IF A PLAYER GOES DOWN THIS YEAR IT WONT HURT US AS BAD AS IT DID LAST YEAR CAUSE WE WOULD NOW HAVE A 5 PRETTY GOOD BACKUPS (CRAWFORD, EVANS, CHILDRESS, ANDERSEN, ZAZA). WE CAN WIN WITH A GROUP LIKE THIS ATL!!!!!

taking a look at what our backups will give us off the bench and their abilities:

Primary Bench:

pg-Crawford (we know he's going to give us POINTS any given night and thats really about it but hey thats good cause he can score with the best of them!)

sg-Evans- (we all know he's known to be a DEFENSE SPECIALIST plus he can KNOCK DOWN THE 3 well and thats needed for this team)

sf-Chillz-(this man dont even need the ball in his hand. he's a HUSTLER and pretty good DEFENSE PLAYER, on top of that he has a special ability to OFFENSE REBOUND!!!)

pf-Andersen(okay so he hasnt even played a lick of nba b-ball but check this i know for a fact this guy is going to give us some good points, he can SHOOT VERY WELL and actually can probably knock down the 3 BALL also he has a NICE OFFENSE POST UP GAME)

c-Zaza(king zaza is all HUSTLE and REBOUNDING. an he KNOWS HOW TO DRAW FOULS getting himself to the FREE THROW LINE)

WE ARE LOOKING LIKE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS WITH A STARTING LINEUP AND A BENCH LIKE THAT ATL. DONT YOU AGREE?

i really do miss childress' game. he would save alot of posessions for us by swooping in at the last minute and getting an easy putback. with all the shooters on our team, he would be very valuable grabbing their misses. evans tries, but he just doesnt have the length. i wish smoove and marv would stay around the rim more cuz they could get some very easy buckets if they did.

Whoa... wait...

Mo and defensive specialist? Can those two go together in the same sentence? Did you watch him get abused... no... straight up molested by other SFs last season. I mean he can shut down a SG if and that's "if" he can match up with the other 2 guard.

But other than that, I totally agree with your post... great post

I wouldn't really call mo a defensive stopper, he got killed by athletic wingmen last year, but i still love what he brings to the team. I don't think we should start putting championship expectations on this team yet, give em at LEAST 2 years. I'm just happy with the way the team is moving but I think we should set realistic expectations so we won't be upset at the end of the year. We're moving foward and thats great, lets focus on bringing chillz back and just add a veteran big and we'll be exactly where should be 4 next year, we'll really give people problems in the playoffs

no, i don't see championship contenders to say the least. i think this is certainly an improved team to last years, and could potentially go deeper into the playoffs (at least not get swept in any round), but i don't see them ever making it to the finals.

the bench/depth looks great, but you need a lot more than that to contend for the trophy. we certainly have much more of it than we ever have in the past, which is a good thing. however, we still don't have any SERIOUS impact players that you pretty much need to win it all.

let's see, who were the last four teams standing last year? lakers (kobe), nuggets (melo), cavs (lebron), magic (howard). unfortunately, joe isn't in that league.

absolute best case senario (imo):

woody breaks his mould, and actually plays a 9-10 man rotation throughout the year, instead of just 6-7 or 7-8 of previous seasons. the bench depth lives up to our hype, and we experience no major drop off during their play and can reach around the 4 seed again next year. by using a deeper rotation, our main players have more in the tank come playoff games, and our bench will have enough experience to contribute valuble minutes. with a little luck, our core players stay healthy and continue to grow as they have been, and orlando (lack of depth), boston (old age), and/or the cavs slower and older frontcourt (shaq and big z) loose some key players at the end of the season and can be exploited enough to get us into the eastern conf finals. i just don't see all three of those teams having enough major setbacks to get us into the league finals, though.

as far as chillz goes, i think he would prefer to go to the bucks over us just for the sheer fact that he could be a starter for them. if marvin is here, he automatically goes back to the bench. i felt like he envisioned himself a starter, and was getting rubbed the wrong way when peeps talked about what a great 6th man he was. i have a feeling that if he continued in that role here, he would've felt type-casted and would have a hard time shaking off that perception. i can't think of anything specifically that was said at the end of his last season and the off season, but something gave me the impression that a chance at a starting job was something very important to him, which would lead him to greece with a chance later to accomplish that goal in the nba. the bucks are bad enough that he could give him a shot as a starter, and if he does well enough for them as a starter, then he might be able to parley that into a bigger contract in a bigger market team down the road.

I don't see Chills coming back at all. Do you realize he would not only have to take a paycut but a reduction in his role and minutes to come back. The money he may not mind but his role? Highly doubt it. Crawford is the 6th man now who's going to be seeing around 25-30 minutes a game at the outside. Chills would be eating Mo's minutes and most likely Teague's and even that won't equate to more than 20 minutes a game. Only way I see him back is if Woody decides to pull a Hubie in Memphis and throw two 5 man rotations out there.

Good post man!!! by the time i was done reading it my heart was beating fast i was so excited, lol. At a minimum i hope we keep Childress. Thats one player who hustles and man would he add depth to the bench. As far as the Hawks becoming a championship contender with that team, i don't know. I really don't know Woody would know what to do with so many players to play. Also, the top 3 teams in the east have made some big moves this summer... But we'll see

LOL yeah but i think woody would play them with no problem and give them good minutes. You know woody only plays players he trust I think he can trust all these players if they do what they are suppose to do.

People should just forget about Chill coming back.

He doesn't wanna be here!!

1. He wants be a starter, and Crawford has taken the 6 man job yhat he had before.

2.He doesn't like playing for Mike Woodson ,,,, or (Mike Watson) if that EURO article was correct.

I agree! I mean, I would love to bring Chillz back, but it will be next to impossible...

The way I see it, it would be possible only if we would somehow be able to unload Mo Evans!

P.S. Chillz would realy give us D, plus all the little things he does so well... Plus, I don't think we're bringing Flip back (with Crawford and Teague we don't realy need him).

Yeah but i put mo at the 2 guard in my post! not the sf!

So what ?

That does not make him just a SG............he has no handles. How many times have you seen him take more then 2 dribbles ?

Marvin, Evans, and JJ are more then capable of filling the 48 minutes a night at SF.

Players do play more then one position, ya know !

Cosign !

Chillz head is as BIG his AFRO. In fact, I don't think it is an afro any more. I think its a normal cut and his head is just that big.

There are just a few teams in the league that Chillz would start for (Bucks and ummm, ummm, maybe the Knicks but they have Chandler, and ummm, ummmm). Teams either have better starting talent already or they want to ride out one of their draft picks to give them a chance to develope.

If Childress wants to start he better go back to Greece.

I know players play more than one position. Im saying if chillz had came back we wouldnt have to see him play sf as much and he can then can play more sg behind johnson and crawford at pg off the bench. I didnt say he wasnt going to play sf anymore, Im saying its not going to be his primary postion if chillz was to come back to our team.

Unless we are talking S&T with LAC, I don't see anything that would make me do more than wait and see on Chillz. We can always match and matching Chillz is 100x better than trading for washed up Bruce Bowen.
