Look at Christian Leattner....Mike Miller......Keith Van

Horn....Bobby Hurley....None of these players all that

good.

Don't blame me because Dan is a bum that was likely

only drafted because the hawks where stupid enough

to draft him.

Ahh... wrong again. Dickau was drafted by the Kings. Also, Van Horn and Miller are becoming key players on their respective teams. A player doesn't have to rack up 28 PPG, 8 RPG, and 8 APG to be good. Your standards for white players are way too high. Why don't you bring them down to the level you expect the rest of the league to be at.

Would they have drafted him had a deal with the Hawks

not been inplace? I doub it. There is a reason 27 teams

passed on Dan Dickau. There is nothing about him that

even hints he'll be a good player mustless one that can

contribute on such a non talented team like the Hawks

are. There isn't any other good players to draw attention.

"Also, Van Horn and Miller are becoming key players on their respective teams"

Yeah they 13/7 is just monster production isn't?

Dickau's a bum. Sorry you don't agree.... but biased

fans usally don't. I do feel sorry for Dan that he actually

has to go out dressed in a hawks uniforms. That's punish

ment.

The hawks biggest hopes is that they can draft that stupid

high schooler. I'm just drooling over the chance to draft a

high school kid or Tango spitter.

You know to be honest, it's just stupid that people on

here continue to believe than Dan and Boris are going

to be a huge part of the future for any franchise. These

guys were mid and late first round picks. Neither have

shown all that much. Neither should be starting this year

and neither should be getting more than 20MPG.

The fact is that with the hawks lineup it's going to be

a really tough situation. I wouldn't be surprised to see

SAR moved to SF and Mohammad moved to C and Theo

to PF. Either way a Dickau/Diaw/SAR/Theo/Nazr lineup

is not going to win 12 games. And look at the aweful

bench of

Vaugh/Hansen/Hendu/Moore.

That's just terrible!

KB dan scored 12 points at Golden State. Half of those came off of three pointer and the other 2 at the line. He only had 2 normal baskets and three fouls in limited time. He was not going to the rack at will nor was he getting penetration. I'm with Hotlanta in that I have not seen anything from Dickau to make me believe that he will be anymore than a backup PG. He is not quick nor extremely athletic. He does have a nice jumper but is a liability on defense at this point. He may improve and I hope he does but I don't see him as the answer.

As for Jason Williams he's light years better than DD can hope to become. I agree that he turns the ball over too much but that's because he is stubborn and plays the way he plays. Hubie got him playing better ball but he has a long way to go. You are a fool if you think that DD is better than Jason Williams skill wise. White Chocolate has the potential to be great, DD has the potential to be decent. There's a big difference. It is also no coincidence that JW was a lotto pick and DD barely made the first round. If we didn't draft him he would have slipped. And please don't start quoting second round talents like Arenas, just be honest and admit that JW has more athleticism and tools than DD.

First off, JT won't be traded. It will be a case where JT is allowed to sign with Utah and we get nothing.

Secondly.

I think for this franchise, if JT is gone and the starting lineup looks like it looks, that the franchise would have to send Dickau with Theo if he makes a deal work. If Diaw could be traded, I would be saying the same thing about him.

Theo/Diaw to Washington for White/Stackhouse.

However, Just like Nash didn't show enough in Phoenix... Dickau hasn't shown enough here to warrant calling him our future.

Lastly.

This team won't totally self destruct. There is a huge reason to build around Reef. Namely, his consistency and secondly players would want to play with him.

Sorta' the same opinion you have of white girls,

huh, ARR ? smile.gif

But what if Dickau was black, but looked too

"white boyish" ? Or played too "white boyish" ?

I know, I know. We all know. You don't have to

answer.

I've never seen white person as "fixated" on

whites as you are on blacks.

Never seen a black as "fixated" on whites as

you are on blacks.

Or a black as "fixated' on blacks..... as you are

on blacks.

I'm simply not actracted to white women phyisically. I

know it's a sin as far as alot of people are concerned...

But it has nothing to do with the subject at hand. Not

everyone is hung on those blonde chicks with no body

(Ex:Anna Kornakova.. No body what so ever) and I dont

really find it much in the way of your business to be

honest.

Maybe you should get back to your theories because to

me you are nothing more than a lighweight.

im kind of in the middle b/t ur two arguments.

- for Hotlantadude-

Dickau isint showin any type of 1st round draftee material. hes a backup thats playin mediocre as a backup NEWBIE.

then we also get Vaughn... meanin we dont have enuf faith in Dickau? comparin Dickau with Nash isint fair at all for Nash. Nash is one heck of a player. thats like comparin Ricky Davis with Michael Jordan.

- for KB21-

while Dickau isint producin as well as Nash, his game IS SIMILAR with Nash's. Both of them did HAVE similar rookie years. and yes- Dickau can shoot the ball, i dont question his shooting skills. but how many PGs also met Nash's statistics in their first year, and how many ended up becomin a Steve Nash? the chances arent good.

as far startin a FRANCHISE with any player... i'd take Michael Jordan or Shaq Oneal before John Stockton. Magic Johnson as well! Stockton hasnt won a championship ring.

Yes John Stockton was very good and did play at an allstar level without incredible athleticism.... he did

1)play for a while... kind of like Emmitt Smith in football, breakin Paytons record. also like Robert Parish in basketball.

2)cheap calls... he fouls a lot and gets away with so much dirty stuff. Ask anyone in the NBA. but its not his fault the Refs dont call anything. DO WATEVER WORKS, if they dont call it- keep doin it.

From a purely objective standpoint:

I have watched Dan very very closely when he gets into the game and I can definitely say Dan is (on NBA standards) an average PG. Nothing more, nothing less.

He doesn't have good handles. He has hard times getting the ball up against good defensive players. And when he gets it up he immediately gets the ball out of his hands.

The kid can shoot only if he squares up and has time to plant his feet and shoot.

He doesn't create shots well off the dribble which is very very very important in the NBA, way more so than in college. To me that is his greatest weakness at this level.

Body control and body adjustments as you drive and shoot are very important in the NBA and this is really not his game.

I am not saying he is a bad player, but he is no more than a role player in this league. He is not an impact player.

I have never posted any "theories", kid. That was an

uninformed [if not unintelligent] comment. If you're

going to judge people "lightweights', you'd better

learn to pay attention better.

You have come to the point where you can debate

basketball related topics very well --- but don't make

the mistake of thinking you can carry this over to

areas where you have no competence whatsoever.

You have never made an intelligent criticism of

anything I have written. You'e only attempts have

come across as something that a 3rd grader may

offer another in a spat during recess.

I have posted opinions on various on-topic

[basketball related] threads and made an

observation about the behavior of this group

as a whole in one memorable situation. [Kwame]

I happen to agree with you on Dickau, FWIW.

But any "fixation" --- be it a religious one, a

devotion to an entity such as a country, school,

blood relations, etc, more often than not clouds

peoples objectivity. [They'll swear it doesn't,

however] They only entertain answers that will

fit within or allow their "fixation" to remain intact.

You are the most emotionally driven poster here.

From one day to the next, you can change very

drastically. You are the first to admit this. Yet

you make no atempt to correct this about yourself.

This is quite immature.

On Topic --- I believe the Hawkd should match

the JT offer. The JT/Theo/SAR nucleus is more

talented that we could hope to achieve for years

by starting over. Starting over is hit or miss as

we have seen the first time we tried it via JR and

co. The Hawks need a coach who will put in a

defensive scheme that works. There's no excuse

in the world for such a poor defense considering

zones are allowed.

WTF. Are you so concerned with Hotlanta's preferences in women. What does that have to do with anything? Once you go black you never go back . But anyway.

Dickau is a fraud. Wait no he is just a scrub he knows he's a scrub and deep down so do the rest of you. Like Larry Bird, Nowvitzki, McHale, etc. .... fans overhype them and make good players into superstars. I liked Dickua he was my choice for the Hawks 2nd round pick but too many people try to make him sound like a messiah. Why cant a white player just be evaluated on merit and not be propelled to all star status just for showing up. CC hasnt even gotten off the bench in 2 years, but if I talk about his pussyballing behind everyone on this site has a stroke. Or oh dont critisize a white coach the world might end. Just evaluate talent winning is more important than all the race issues that seem to come up for no reason.

Oh and by the way amoung the scrubs are a litany of black players who are even bigger pussyballers than CC and DD and that super scrub Hansen.

Anyway this is a stupid convo

I just went over the tread. Hotlanta saying whites have no place in basketball is going to far but in about 90 - 99% agreement with you about everyting else DD is a F***ing scrub. I am tired of having to hear about the accomplishments of every white player to ever live why did someone post every whit allstar they could think of ... Jerry West, John Havlicek, Bill Walton, Dave DeBusschere, Dave Cowens, Billy Cunningham, Rick Barry, Pete Maravich, Bill Laimbeer.... dont give two craps we could do that all day... Magic Johnson, Micheal Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Bill Russell, Hakeem Olojuwan, etc. now what the He!! does that prove.

This is stupid stop rubbing white players nuts just because their white. DD is a scrub andd we all know it so let talk about who we can get in here to really make a difference at PG

Good to see BigotHawkDown is back with his weekly 'white people are the devil' sermon.

So Bird and McHale were merely good players??

And let me guess, the white-controlled media turned them into all-stars. It had nothing to do with the boatload of NBA championships they won or the number of all-star appearances they made.

You are a racist, disgrace of a human being.

You are no better than the KKK.

I've never denied the pasted of the NBA. However these

days is a different story. I'm not attacking the Euro players

I'm attacking american born US white players. Maybe it

is because white american players don't really have the

drive to be good NBA players like in football/NASCAR/MLB/

Golf...etc....

But whatever the reason, the truth is that everytime a

guy like Dickau comes out he's supposed to be the next

John Stockton when there is nothing to really back it up

other than a solid college career and the fact that they

are both white.

When I see Dickau I see a Brevin Knight without defense

but a better jumper. He might be a more pure PG and he

might look good at times. But at the end of the day you

know he's small and has an aweful lot of flaws and is

really a good backup. Like Brevin he might give his all

in an attempt to makeup for the talent he doesn't have,

but you still know what he is.

In final, there is nothing to show Dan is the next Stockton

or Nash other than a good college career.
