How about that foul at the end before the ball was in play??? How is the ball in play when no one has touched it and therefore the clock has not started. Still a dead ball foul in my opinion. Foul shots and the ball. Ridiculous.

Nevermind. The ball was alive. Damnit!

Section III-Ball is Alive

a. The ball becomes alive when:

(1) It is legally tapped by one of the participants of a jump ball

(2) It is released by the thrower-in

(3) It is released by the free throw shooter on a free throw which will remain in play

Section X--Away-From-The-Play Foul

a. During the last two minutes of the fourth period or overtime period(s) with the offensive team in possession of the ball, all personal fouls which are assessed against the defensive team prior to the ball being released on a throw-in and/or away-from-the-play, shall be administered as follows:

(1) A personal foul and team foul shall be assessed and one free throw attempt shall be awarded. The free throw may be attempted by any play-er in the game at the time the personal foul was committed.

(2) If the foul occurs when the ball is inbounds, the offended team shall be awarded the ball at the nearest point where play was interrupted but no nearer to the baseline than the free throw line extended.

(3) If the foul occurs prior to the release on a throw-in, the offended team shall be awarded the ball at the original throw-in spot, with all privileges, if any, remaining.

It's hard for the refs to call fouls for the Hawks when we're jacking up jumpshots. Seriously, if you think the refs cost us this game, you're just looking for reasons to not feel as bad about your team. We would have had more free throws if we had more guys who would take it to the hole instead of settling for bad jumpshots.

They were terribly one-sided all night for sure...But since the national media has this "Hawks are not fun to watch" theme that they all subscribe to (with most of them not actually articulating why), that won't be discussed . . .

The Celtics blocked 11 shots, while only committing 14 fouls...Are you kidding me with that take it to the hole nonsense? It doesn't matter how hard you take it when the refs aren't giving you the call. Edited by SmooveZilla

There were a number of times where Hawks were fouled near the rim and the refs let them play, while on the other side it was called. And Garnett was allowed to set moving screens (or he'd just grab the shirt of the person he was screening) the entire night series. Edited by YP2K

You guys realize you sound like a bunch of sore losers right now. Direct your anger in the proper direction. Look at our gameplan. Look at our bad shot selection. Look at our so-called go to guy Joe. Ask Josh why the long jump shots? Joe and Josh are incompatible. One needs to go. It seems Josh is the one who will be gone as no one in their right mind will take on Joe's contract so I think we can kiss Josh good-bye.
