He has made it clear he loves Atlanta and that this is his home. I think he would be willing to take less to stay here, but thats just my opinion. A guy can dream right? nitte
We are one of the most injury riddled teams in the league in recent years. At some point you have to ask whether it is just bad luck or poor conditioning/poor medical staff.
Kimsey
So is Eddy Curry eligible for a playoff roster. Fesenko would look good right now. Hell Keith Benson would look nice sitting on the bench.
TheTruth
I guess LD will have no excuse to play IVAN now.
benhillboy
F@$k. I wish a speedy recovery to King Zaza. Y'all right, Ivan's finally gonna get the minutes he deserves. If his efficiency increases with minutes, as it almost always does with NBA players, that'll be huge for us, but certainly not a replacement for a hard-nosed, 270 pound veteran.
Admin
Wow this sucks Achilles surgery is no joke! I hope we haven't seen the last of Z in a Hawks uni but hopefully he will be able to come back and play next year period.
Popular Post Ruckus
For all of the LD bashing, things like this remind me how well he has actually coached this season. No Joe, No Lou, No Zaza, Devin out all the time, Deshawn out all the time. Not saying he is the best, but credit needs to be given where credit is deserved.

We all have our opinions, and he isn't Larry Brown or nothing. But I think it's pretty clear he's a damn good coach. Poor coaches don't come back from 27 against Doc, they don't win COTM, they dont sweep Lionel Hollins, and they damn sure don't win in OKC shorthanded. And the complete turnaround from being historically dominated to a comfortable playoff series win over Orlando seemingly doesn't matter either. Let this board tell it he can't make adjustments. I don't want to argue with anyone on this. Just trying to give a little perspective. I hated Joe more than anyone but never failed to give him credit when due.
Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted March 31, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted March 31, 2013 Sorry to hear that for Z-Pac, and hope he recovers well enough to come back strong next season. And hopefully, in particular, for us! He hits age 30 next season, and being unavailable for the last two postseasons should bring the size and length of offers by other teams this summer down a notch. I definitely owe the BBB a lunchtime visit and will do so this week. ~lw3
Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted March 31, 2013 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 31, 2013 Having lost half the season will probably bring his asking price down. I would be willing to offer him $4M per for the next 3 years. I want him to retire a Hawk. Get well Zaza! GO HAWKS!

Premium Member hawkman Posted March 31, 2013 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 31, 2013 Zaza should retire a Hawk. The Hawks need players that actually WANT to be here. Not to mention he's been a bonafide Playoff warrior for us. I hope he has a speedy recovery and doesn't rush it. The last thing he needs to do is completely rupture it. I've had an achilles rupture and it is no joke.

Moderators PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted April 1, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted April 1, 2013 He'll be back. He just loves this city too damn much and the feeling amongst the fans is mutual. He is a high value player with a no quit attitude. Good, gritty rebounder, decent free throw shooter, and above all, a high level of toughness. MrMeltdown
Zaza is done here. The guy has been hurt, inconsistent and threatened to be traded the last 3 yrs. Honestly he made it easy from a business standpoint.
