Alex
Mid point of the season. How are your teams doing? Rondo just started playing again and has been a non factor. My number 1 pick James Harden has been as solid as anyone in the league. Josh Smith has been decent, but his shooting percentages are...well pretty sad at this point. JJ Hickson is averaging a near double double for his new looks Denver squad. Andrew Bogut just can't stay on the court long enough to get good numbers. Obviously Rondo wasn't going to have a big impact initially and I knew that. Of my starters though, I'd say Andrew Bogut has been the ,mist disappointing. My best selection of these five is JJ Hickson who is doing what he does in Denver. Goran Dragic is the engineer that is making the Suns go. Perhaps most improved player in the league this season? Just about 20 PPG and 6 APG and this man is clearly my sixth man. Shved has seen his minutes drop dramatically and thus is production suffered as well. He took a big step backwards this season. This next guy is a big reason why Shved isn't getting a lot of action. Kevin Martin is helping the Wolves stay in playoff contention with his three point stoke. Alan Anderson has been a delightful surprise and has stepped in and played fairly well in Brooklyn. I wasn't expecting this kind of production from him. My man Draymond Green is filling the stat sheet for Golden State. His numbers are pretty solid considering he's at 20 minutes a game. Hakim Warrick is still in the NBA? Thomas Robinson needs to figure it out. He was a monster in college, but that hasn't translated over yet. Alex Len has been a major disappointment. The 5th pick overall in the draft barely gets 6 minutes a night. Without a doubt Goran Dragic was my best pick on the bench. Considering where I got him in the draft, I'd say he's been the best value pick on my team.
Moderators AHF Posted February 13, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted February 13, 2014 Time for all of us to come and gloat or take our medicine (often both). Let's wade into the water and see how our teams are performing so far this season and what rotation you have ended up using. Moderators PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted February 13, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted February 13, 2014 I was going to bring this up but then I remembered my comedy club of a roster. Demar DeRozan IS the only bright spot. Everyone else is injured, has been injured, or is a non-factor.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MaceCase
Well my roster has amassed 5 Player of the Week awards (MCW, Griffinx2, Wall, Sully), two All Stars (Griffin, Wall) and even the likely Rookie of the Year (MCW) but I've suffered a huge blow due to the regression of Larry Sanders (damn you LD!!!!!) and Gallo's knee injury turning out to be worse than originally suspected. My specialists in Miller, Shumpert and Korver are still rocking it although not showing any broader statistical explosions but then Dre Miller has gone from surly vet to full malcontent. Of my previously known malcontents Dray Blatche has managed to maintain most of his previous season's production while Shabazz showed some flashes in his only decent minutes all season playing for notorious rookie hater Rick Adelman. My biggest disappointment is Ed Davis as I thought he'd surely get greater rotation minutes but Jared Sullinger has come on to make up for that. Moderators AHF Posted February 13, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) Here is my review on my squad: AHF U-NIQUESGeneral Manager: AHFHead Coach: Phil JacksonGuards: Dwyane Wade/Brandon Jennings/Jose Calderon/John Jenkins/Quincy PondexterForwards: Luol Deng/Kevin Garnett/Michael Kidd-Gilchrist/Enes Kanter/Anthony Bennett/Mike DunleavyCenters: Dwight Howard/Jonas Valanciunas The Good:The center position has been great. Dwight Howard has averaged roughly 19 ppg, 12.5 rpg, and 2 bpg on .593 TS%. He is quite back up to his career peak but he looks very good in the middle. Valanciunas looks like a rising star for Toronto who is putting up 13.7 pp36 and 11.4 rp36 at age 21. Kanter could play some here but the minutes aren't needed form him. At the guard spots, Wade and Calderon have been good. Wade has been the best 2G in the league when healthy but he hasn't had a superstar impact since he has missed too many games. Calderon has been one of the league's best perimeter shooters (45% on 6.3 3pt shots per game) and has very successfully played some off-guard as well, unexpected versatility which the U-Niques have needed. Luol Deng has been providing his usual outstanding two-way play this year despite a bit of a drop-off since joining the disfunctional Cavs. Off the bench, Kanter has been solid this year with career high raw numbers and solid per minute production and is still only 21 years old. Mike Dunleavy is providing the role player minutes you would expect from one of your final picks with 13.5 pp36, 4.7 rp36 and a nice .378 3pt% to help spread the floor. The Bad:Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has not made the leap and has actually been a bit worse this year than his rookie season. There is plenty of time for the 20 year old but he is only getting time on our roster due to injuries at the wing. Kevin Garnett has fallen off a cliff this season. He remains a useful rotation player particularly with his improved play in 2014 (13.1 pp36 on .575 FG% with 11.2 rp36 in Jan/Feb) but his 2013 All-Star status is now officially in the rear view mirror. Off the bench, Jennings is putting up career high assist numbers even with Josh Smith on his team and has provided Detroit's only perimeter threat from 3pt range but has remained overall inefficient as a scorer. The Ugly:Two of our backup wings, John Jenkins and Quincy Poindexter, are gone for the year with injuries. This requires some guard minutes from Dunleavy and Deng as well as some off-guard minutes from Calderon. Anthony Bennett has been an absolute disaster. He hasn't gotten off the bench this season for us, but for the Cavs he has been a negative WS player. The only good thing you can say is that maybe his play in February is a sign of better things to come: 16 pp36, 9 rp36, .566 TS%. Uniques Rotation:PG: Calderon (26) / Jennings (22)SG: Wade (31) / Dunleavy (6) / Deng (6) / Calderon (5)SF: Deng (31) / Dunleavy (9) / Kidd-Gilchrist (8)PF: Garnett (20) / Kanter (20) / Dwight (8)C: Dwight (28) / Jonas V. Buzzard
Head Coach: Scott BrooksGuards: Mike Conley/Tyreke Evans/Victor Oladipo/Steve Nash/Reggie Bullock/Luke RidnourForwards: Chandler Parsons/Ersan Ilyasova/Paul Millsap/John Henson/Chase BudingerCenters: Marc Gasol/Cody Zeller Take my medicine is exactly what this is at the halfway point. I only have three players of worth right now in the win share department. They are: Chandler Parsons 5.8, Mike Conley 5.6, and Paul Millsap 4.7. Marc Gasol has been bitten by the injury bug and tumbled to the bottom of the league and Tyreke has not played very well IMO, even when given the minutes. On the bright side Oladipo ( 21 yrs old ), Ersan ( 26 years old), and Henson ( 23 yrs old ) have shown flashes; but their playing time and performance have been erratic at best. I also think Scott Brooks is proving to be arguably the best coach in the NBA with the job he has done this year; with losing Westbrook and helping Blatche to turn into a well rounded player. The 2nd half of the season is what we are playing for now; my guys need to turn things up a notch or moves will have to be made! Smith/Shane BattierSF: Evan Turner/Thaddeus Young/Shawn MarionPF: Tim Duncan/Pau GasolC: David Lee/Chris "The Birdman" AndersenHEAD COACH: Frank Vogel What a season this has been. Astonishingly, I have no All-Stars, My Point Guard is out until God knows when, and the rest of my team has really underperformed for me. The bright spot about this team is that I found some good gems in Turner and Young who producing breakout years. If I could atleast get 12 of my players healthy at the same time, I would still have hope.
coachx
With the next to last pick I'm loving the Lillard and Unibrow picks.Had to take a gamble on Kobe at my draft position.JJ has played well. The Pekovic was having a nice season until his ankle injury on Jan 27. Believe his strengths fit nicely beside Anthony Davis.A ton of injuries have taken me out of contention but the future is bright with Lillard and Davis as the 2 of the best young cornerstones in the league. Admin capstone21 Posted February 16, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted February 16, 2014 CAPSTONE’S CREWGeneral Manager: capstone21Head Coach: Jerry SloanGuards: Deron Williams/Wesley Matthews/ Raymond Felton/Dion Waiters/ Reggie JacksonForwards: Kevin Love/Nicolas Batum/Tobias Harris/Luis Scola/Marvin WilliamsCenters: Marcin Gortat/Anderson Varejao/NeneI am actually really liking my team and actually think it would compete for the championship. It's a nice well rounded roster with offense, defense, rebounding, passing and three point shooting. Also my whole roster is versatile....every player with exception of Williams and Felton plays multiple positions allowing for many many lineups based on situation. At point Deron has been one of the top pgs in the league....this season he is having a down year but I attribute it to injuries and a team that is still figuring out,it's chemistry. Still, there is little doubt that he can run an offense. Felton another veteran is on the downside of his career but would be one of the top backups. Great passer he can also hit the three. Jackson has really stepped up in Westbrooks absence. He bring instant offense and would be a spargplug off the bench. At shooting guard I think Matthews is a very underrated player ... Awesome three point shooter and consistent. He forces defenses away for the basket and also plays nice d. Dion waiters is another instant offense off the bench.Kevin Love is the top pf in the game...his rebounding and scoring is known but one of the things I love about this guy is his passes. He is probably the best pull a rebound and pass up court player in the league. Scola is an excellent role player. Love his post game and willingness to do the dirty work.Batum brings an all around game to the sf. Harris is one of the best up and coming players in the league and Marvin is having a career resurrection in Utah and has proven to be a very solid role player. At center I have very three hard working guys. Gortat is an excellent rebounder and banger who can score down low...Varejao is a phenomenal rebounder and high energy defender who can defend any center in the league...nene scores, passes and bangs.Sloan is probably the best coach not to win a championship and probably the best coach not named pops of the last 20 years ... And is the perfect coach for this team. This team is built of team players which is key to chemistry and which in turn is key to winning.
