What tired act? The facts? No, if you stuck LeBron on OKC with Harden and Westbrook, OKC wins over Durant, Wade, and Bosh. leBron is CLEARLY the better player today.

LOL u must not know how dumb Westbrook really is!...Westbrook would almost destroy Lebrons chances cause lebron who clearly needs the ball in his hands will NOT receive the ball from westbrick.

I don't know how dumb he is...I don't know the dude. I know he's a chucker. But I also know he's very good. We can speculate and argue, I just think a Lebron, Westbrook, Harden team beats a KD, Wade, Bosh team all because of LeBron in a fake finals which doesn't matter because LeBron won anyway.

It's fun debating. No one has an answer. Maybe since I'm in Ohio and been watching him forever....I think he's the best player in the NBA, and it's really not even close.....But that just me.

What? Really? No that Miami team would Destroy OKC with Lebron. Have you not noticed the difference in KD with Westbrook and KDwithout Westbrook? Sorry man we just need to agree to disagree

If the older players don't like the game today, why are they watching? I love Nique, but he needs to sit down and cut out the social media.

Benhill, you gotta give me something better than that statement. And I know from seeing you post on here for years your feelings towards todays game. I remember when you were going crazy about those touch fouls Rose was getting in the playoffs against us. Haha I know that you think todays game is soft.Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Yup. You're right. I'd take LBJ, you'd take KD....it's all good.

Lol like I said I would take both it doesn't really matter in today's nba.I know lebron has won 2 rings but give ME Durant and I would put a better team around KD than what the thunder organization is doing....they still haven't figured out that Westbrook and kd just don't go.

I mean I guess but truth is the truth...it's BS that Teague can run in the lane and get smacked 100 times before a whistle is blown where as if lebron drives the lane and you breathe on him it's a foul instantly. And it's not just lebron, it's all the star players in the nba! You can't defend them because the refs won't allow it....I remember last playoffs I was the main member here bit**in because Paul George out of no where started to get 10-15 free throws against us where in the season dude only avg 3.5 a game! Sometimes, yes sometimes the nba seems like a setup and that's really the reason it's important to get a star! So our hawks can start getting the lame ass star calls to bail us out when we need it.

Well, to put this debate to bed, they're the top two players in the NBA and I hope we can all agree on that. I do agree it would have been in the best interest of OKC to not trade Harden....But, I don't get into the money and all that other stuff, I don't understand it.

It was just so many guys in a few days knocking today's game: Jerry West, Nique, and Chuck. I wouldn't call the game "soft" per se, it's all relative. Sam Mitchell had some great points on the radio today, since he had an up-close view of Kobe's 81 and why he wouldn't send a "goon" like the Pistons might have circa '88 before he got to 10 points. He threw every defense possible, but it was just a wonderful player having a wonderful night. Scoring 60+ in an NBA game simply cannot be discounted, I dont care who its against (the Cats are no slouch at 7th ranked in defense last I heard). Was more physical play allowed in the 70s through the mid-nineties? Of course. With longer college tutelege, less distractions, and being closer to 25 than 15 YO, were they smarter than today's averge player? Easily. But Mitchell, who had a pretty good and long career, said his skill level wouldn't have gotten it done today when everyone's super-athletic and the only skills he had were an okay shot, exclusive one hand dribble, and hard work. He said save for the Top 15 guys in each era, the other 400-something guys in today's game are much more equipped from a raw skill standpoint. It's the lack of maturity, IQ, and professionalism that is seen on the court, and sometimes off, that causes the old guys to lash out. Rick Fox was passively pissed at his Lakers for looking less than professional off the bus, and I felt him. They proceeded to go out and play a "jeans and T-shirt" type of game as he put it.But it's crazy to me when people view the hand checking rule and more lenient officiating as always favoring the era where it was played and making those players "tougher" or "better." The greatest perimeter defenders at guard through those eras were who, Dennis Johnson, Mike, Payton? Scottie and Dennis set the standard at forward, a few others? The league is now filled with ballet-footed, 220+ pound, 6'7+ defensive specialists, let alone LeBron James. I think today's players would do just fine with the old rules, if not better with all the obvious advancements in training, conditioning, medical staffs, etc. if they were allowed to lean and push freely anywhere on the floor. Imagine Noah being able to handcheck on his doubles and switches? You'd never score. At the end of the day, it's all about the three ball. I think it's used a little too much today, but the game had to change a bit, for the better, to incorporate them, increase scoring, and viewership. I can't blame the NBA at all for quickly putting a halt to where those Knicks-Heat series were taking the league: the first to 80 points and the most bloody noses wins.As far as calls for stars, they attack the basket the most, what you gonna do? Calling guys for unobvious flops or stating an agenda with the refereeing for certain markets or stars is an area I don't like to get into much unless its just aggregious. Unfortunately, my team is on the short end of that too often, but we've had the superstar debate 1,000 times and hopefully Ferry addresses that for us. All in all, I get to watch Lil Curry so I'm a happy basketball fan, bruh. Rant over. I was flipping through Simmons' Basketball Book and it got the juices going. Edited by benhillboy

If you could start a francise....today...not three years down the line....would you really choose KD over LeBron?? I know I wouldn't. KD doesn't even have a ring yet. There's no debate.

I would pick KD. I could understand some people picking LeBron. Its definitely not clear cut like most of the NBA analysts at ESPN like to put it. If you put KD on that Heat team that loss to the Mavericks they woulve won in my opinion. His shooting would've busted that zone.

If you were starting a franchise one factor would be that KD is 4 years younger. Lebron has been the best overall player in the NBA over the past few years to be sure and Durant has been narrowing that gap to the point where it is very close today. For a single season I would still go Lebron because he is more versatile with his D and passing (i.e., his impact outside of scoring is higher so his value drops less if paired with another great scorer) but I might take Durant for the long-term (his scoring is clearly better but he has also closed the gap in some other areas like his significantly improved passing and studly SF rebounding the last 3 years).

One of those decisions were there isn't really a wrong call barring unforeseeable injury.

King James is now, has been and continues to be, as Ali says "The greatest!'

The King does things on the court that mere mortals cannot. If anyone else

were to do the same thing, they would get called for a foul. He doesn't. And,

don't let the defender get too close to him or it is a foul. He can run over and

through opposing players, shove them out of his way and score.

All that being said, it was a great feat that he was able to score so many points

and that he just couldn't miss from behind the three circle.

Which is the top dog? How would each fare if these two swapped teams and

everything else remain the same? Would it make a world of difference?

Finally, where did the high scoring King James go last night? He didn't do so

great, did he!

King James is a freak of nature in that he has so much ability to do so many

things so well. He is built like an NFL fullback and can and does run all over

people. Yet, he has that great ability to run faster, jump higher and shoot better

than most anyone else on the planet.

Age will eventually catch up with all of us. Believe me, I know. King James hasn't

reached that time in his career when father time begins to work on him, but his time

is coming. Time waits for no man and he is no exception but he has several good

years ahead of him, barring injuries to enjoy his greatness.

Just to prove that he's really human, check out last night's game.
