why would the new owner care if he sells or not? He really just has to give him a share of the profits, if there are any.

My thoughts exactly.  I bet the LevenFerry thought if they slid Gearon his share of their meager profits he'd stay out of their way.  Little did they know, he was just biding his time waiting to pounce.  No new owner's dumb enough to trust that clown.

If the team loses money (and it might for a while with any new owner) then Gearon has to pony up for the losses.  But, if I'm one of the multiple billionaires, I don't want a bunch of jerks for partners.  If nothing else, I will have to worry that they are recording every conference call I'm on or plotting to overthrow me.

Even if Ferry is done Gearon gives the franchise a black eye and we can't be taken seriously.  Ferry is a minor issue compared to the ASG fiasco.
