Hawks’ Summer League coach Chris Jent thinks Collins has the right mindset to get there. “The one thing about John is if he doesn’t know, he’s going to ask,” Jent explained. “He doesn’t just go out there and wander around. As soon as he doesn’t know the answer to the question, he’s going to ask. That’s what’s healthy about him and his development.”

Believe it or not that is what Fratello used to say about Nique as a youngster. Remember Skip actually talking about it offseason.

After attempting just one three-pointer in two seasons at Wake Forest, Collins displayed some unexpected range at the NBA level -- hitting on 16-of-47 (34%) three point attempts as a rookie.

Had no idea he took more than ten threes all year really. Another year with Jent will make it very interesting with how many shots Collins takes from out there and at what percentage. Expecting much more pick and roll from Collins of course than those threes with Trae onboard.

If this is true then the Squawk all need to pitch in and get JC a pair of these:

If Collins endorsed those then by midseason you have a goggles give away night. Makes Moose on the bench a distant memory.

Thanks, AHF.  I needed to read this.  After so much negative stuff lately, this is good stuff!

Amen.  KB has often made the Amare comparo and it does seem apt.  Also feeling good about Taurean as well.  Would have been fun to see what Huerter might have provided us in Summer league, but such is life.  Trae showed flashes and I have little doubt his shooting will improve.
