Popular Post JTB
https://www.peachtreehoops.com/2019/11/4/20945780/john-collins-defensive-improvement-atlanta-hawks-center good read!...I’ve definitely noticed that collins has taken a serious attitude to compete defensively so far this year. Hopefully these numbers stay this good or better or hell I will take damn near close to what they are now. Only part of the article I don’t agree with is the part on collins offense not being good ....if you look at his avgs collins has been good on offense as well! Dare I say Squawk !...dare....I....say...Collins has been a two way player in this very early season..that’s right two way guy. Offense and defense has been good coming from him.
Premium Member Popular Post Atlantaholic Posted November 4, 2019 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted November 4, 2019 His defense has been very good for the most part. It's actually quite a turnaround. He's no Mutombo or even Josh Smith just yet but he is consistently challenging shots and getting blocks. He is bound to struggle at times because of his frame, but this year the effort is definitely there. Both he and Trae have looked so much improved and it's fantastic because it's so incredibly rare to see such a big improvement on that side of the ball from one season to the next.

Popular Post NBASupes
His instincts have been improving which is all I really want from him as well making timely defensive decisions which he is still a work in progress at.

I’m just glad he’s showed some early improvements...he keeps at this pace this early in his career and he will be just fine.
Premium Member hawkman Posted November 5, 2019 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 5, 2019 I'm not sure I've seen this many blocks from the PF position on this team since Smoove. I'm fine with Collins averaging less ppg if he keeps defending the paint like he is. At 17ppg 9rpg and 2bpg, John is a borderline All Star PF in the Eastern Conference. I do expect both the points and rebounds to increase based on how good he was in those categories last season. But I'm fine with where he is right now as long as he keeps the rim protection up.

And the 'whatever' look he gave Embiid was good with me. Keep your head don't get Embiid i used to like but now he seems punkish. Just play the game. You aren't impressing anyone by giving KAT a love hug. Why not try that crap on Adams or Z-bo or David West and see if you're still smiling.

Embiid likes to follow it up by talking trash on Twitter which we know only real heroes do.
Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted November 5, 2019 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 5, 2019 Turns out there may be a reason for that improvement outside of effort 1
