Plainview1981
Bogut was asked for specifics of the American attitude toward the game, what he does not like. Guess who's name came up? "There's no one I really hate, ]bbut Kobe [bryant] had a demeanor of being very cocky," he said. "What happened with Shaq. . . . If I had a chance to play with Shaq or Tim, if they told me to buy them groceries, I don't care, I buy them groceries. It's a gift to play with somebody like that. Kobe is probably one of the guys that, everybody knows it, he's got that cocky arrogance to him, everything has to surround around him the whole time. Otherwise, he doesn't function. That's the biggest example. "If you're playing with Shaquille [O'Neal], a Hall of Famer, you keep your mouth shut and play if you want more rings," Bogut continued. Candid? Definitely. Harsh? No more than what many current and former players have said about Bryant.
cyman3
how Kobe's image changed so much over the past year or two. Everyone loved him and all the kids idolized Kobe. Many commercials and advertisement featured Kobe Bryant. At first, the beef bt kobe and shaq as teammates broke down-33/33/33 %. 33% of the fans believed it was mainly Shaq's fault 33% of the fans believed it was mainly Kobe's fault 33% of the fans either didnt care or placed blame on both of them equally. now seems like everyone is on SHAQ's side. -------------------------------------------------------- its funny. how everyone in LA denied that "kobe is the GM." yet!!! he plans to meet with PHIL JACKSON. now why on EARTH does kobe have to meet with Jackson in order for Jackson to coach the Lakers...? lol kobe is the GM of the lakers. Premium Member Diesel Posted June 3, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 3, 2005 I am not going to boast about knowing from day 1 about Kobe.. But I will say this: The league lifted it's drapary from around Kobe. Kobe had the good image because that's was in part the league's doing. They like Kobe in the McDonalds commercial... Didn't want to see Kobe doing anything wrong... Under Stern the League always covers it's prizes dirt... Jordan. Jordan was a gambling Womanizer. I mean, Jordan playing golf for 100,000 per hole. He had an addiction to Gambling. Spent all night at the casino in Atlantic City and then show up for the nets game. This was just about every time they played Jersey. And the infidelity... Jordan has been caught cheating on his wife with some ugly women. .. No way to explain it... However, everything was kept under the sheets for Jordan. Stern used his focus to point out how outlandish Rodman was to take the focus off of Jordan. When the truth is that Jordan and Rodman kept the same hours. I wonder what will happen if LAL moves up to take Bogut... Will Bogut take back what he said about Kobe? That would be funny!

Eeeee
Good to see our Aussie boy Bogut not holding back. Kobe's going to try to dunk on him, but Bogut's got big balls. I look forward to Bogut playing LAL next year.
Final_quest
That was my first thought as well. This kid just guaranteed himself a career of being dunked on by Kobe.
Admin chillzatl Posted June 3, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted June 3, 2005 at least one where Kobe will try. bogut might put him on his ass though, you never know.
Admin chillzatl Posted June 3, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted June 3, 2005 simply because Kobe came out and said that this was the primary reason that he DID NOT want to sit down and talk with Phil. He didn't want to send the message that 1. He was somehow calling the shots and 2. that if they talked and worked things out, yet Phil still decided to go elsewhere, he didn't want it to look like it was his fault. Eeeee
I think what everyone doesnt realise about Bogut is that he is a hoops junkie with a work ethic to match, The kid loves watching hoops and playing hoops and thats about it. His desire to improve is very, very strong. For him, his life is all about basketball. Kobe may try to throw it down on him too, but Bogut will get plenty over the course of his career. Work ethic wise I dont think you have to worry about Bogut if you choose him in the draft.
