8 weeks would be cool. I did a quick google search and the first link said 6-12 months before returning to high intensity exercise. That would not be cool. Obviously there are different degrees to all of this stuff.

Trae Young publicly calls out Grayson Allen's dirty play.

Grayson Allen is the most hated man in basketball for a reason. -
I don't want to say that we should 100% win this game and losing it would be a travesty, but...

Miami made the Finals with a defense built around a 6'8.75 center. The dream is for Okongwu to have a similar effect.

Knight is a good interview. Sounds like a smart dude.

Hell of a team effort to keep Jonas in check tonight and win the rebounding battle. I was prepared for an easy 20/20 night from him. Trae was kind of annoying me with the hero ball, but it did eventually get the job done so I can't complain too much. He clearly has a chip on his shoulder in these games vs. Memphis. He even did the "too small" thing late in the 4th because Ja did that to him last season. I love that he only had 2 TO. That needs to become the norm.

If Capela and Gallo are out then we're going to have to shoot the lights out most likely.

Now you're just making it weird. I'm not trying to end up on an episode of 48 Hours over some basketball jokes. I yield.- 574 replies

I suggest not posting on a message board if you don’t want anyone to respond to your messages. Feel free to put me on ignore and you’ll never get a notification from me again. It won’t hurt my feelings.- 574 replies

I think the jerseys are fine. Not in love with them, but even being neutral on them is a huge step up from the previous ones.

It was just a little fun ribbing after comments like these before the game: But I won't insinuate that @Peoriabird wants the Hawks to lose anymore.- 574 replies

I had my doubts about starting Gallo, but you can't argue with the results. Fortunately Lauri was MIA at the beginning of the game and apparently WCJ sucks now? I just remember him giving us the business before and thinking he had a bright future. Anyway, I'm sure @Peoriabird beat me to the punch on eating crow. Trae can't score 30 points on 20 shots a game anymore, so he decides to score 37 on 12 shots. That was a prime Curry-in-a-blowout kind of night, except better. It's just wild that our very first real game in our very first real season of this Hawks era was historically good. The Bulls played like utter trash, but we've played plenty of worse teams on worse nights before. I loved how our guys just knew they were better and went for the kill. Don't want them to get too high after this win, but hopefully it gives them just enough rhythm and confidence to finally take it to the Grizz. Can't let them punk us 5 games in a row. Gonna be tough if Capela can't suit up, though.- 574 replies

At least 29 is Hill’s age and not the number of seasons he’s played.- 574 replies

I really don't like Gallo and Collins starting together, but I hope it works. And if our defense fails us we at least have the firepower to just outscore them.- 574 replies

When I think of Ratliff I just think of the "Right Now" video they used to play at Philips before the games. His portion was "Right now Theo Ratliff is 6'10" or something (maybe someone knows what I'm talking about). I don't think I ever actually saw him play at one of those games.

4 or 5 of those guys were hurt before we even acquired them. And I would guess most players could fall into the "probable" category any given night.- 574 replies

I think our best bet is Trae/Bogi/Cam/Hunter/JC. Starting Gallo is a bad idea IMO. That leaves Bruno as the only big on the bench. If Gallo picks up a couple of quick fouls trying to guard Lauri or helping on White/LaVine then we're in trouble. Also we need Cam's defense in the lineup. Gallo can do a ton of work against their bench.- 574 replies

Bad look for everyone involved. I didn't realize this happened back in July, though. So at least he didn't mess up as soon as he got to Atlanta.
-
He pretty much neutralized JV whenever they were matched up. You can't ask for much more than that. And remember Capela hadn't played NBA basketball in almost a full year.

Not gonna lie, it’s disappointing to be excited about Rondo’s veteran leadership and then he immediately gets into trouble. It’s such an Atlanta thing to happen. Even if it turns out to be a nonstory it’s still a distraction.

Joe belongs in the Hall of Very Good. He never quite reached the individual heights needed to get in without a ring or even a conference finals appearance. Like T-Mac never got out of the 1st round, but he had an insane 32/6.5/5.5 season (among other advantages).
-
I don't know if you can get away with playing Doncic at the 3 and Collins at the 4 defensively. But the offense would be insane.
-
If JC wants a near max (not full max judging by "competitive" offer) extension then it makes sense to wait. Either he proves that he deserves it and maybe we have to pay a little more, or he doesn't and we're glad we didn't give in. I never expected to extend him now.

I can't believe you thought that was a serious post.
