Premium Member Diesel Posted May 12, 2010 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 You mean to tell me that Cleveland fans are classier than Atlanta Fans?? These are the same guys who supported the Indians in the 90s.
Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted May 12, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 Remember that time Joe Johnson made it to the NBA finals, and won back to back MVP awards... Or that time Lebron James stated he didn't give a damn about what the fans think. Yeah, not the same situation I would say.
LouFan
Nah they will not, because the appreciate the fact that they still have a basketball team. Not to mention they should be more frustrated than us. All of their teams have not had championships in awhile. At least we had the braves in 95... Who did they beat again? MaceCase
LOL @ Cleveland even attempting to boo Lebron. Difference being they know for fact they will be terrible without him and are not selling themselves on JJ Hickson being the face of the franchise and they'll end up with super value in a SnT. And we will be in good shape without JJ? You are losing 21 pts per game, and 5 assists.... He leads the team in assists, WITH ISO.

Nevermind. :white flag:
coachx
92-68.. When do the Cleveland fans start booing James? Poor comparison ! Hawks / Magic series was the most lopsided playoff series in the history of the NBA. Worst 4 game sweep ever ! When James starts shooting 29%, averages 12 ppg during a 4 game sweep where the average margin of defeat is 30 points. On top of that...........his Cavs were not swept in 4 uncompetitive games in last years playoffs and take 7 games to get by an inferior Bucks team. Coaching is what allowed that series to be competitive. James would also have to be only half the player that he is today, but he would want to be paid like a player twice as good as he is. Then we have a comparison. Edited May 12, 2010 by coachx

Premium Member Diesel Posted May 12, 2010 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 I remember a couple of years ago they booed him for struggling at the foul line. In his FA year... his possible last game in Cleveland.... with his team going down by 30... Do you think any fan would consider booing James? Like the fans did Joe in game 3? MVP23
Does it really matter? Celtic fans did it to the celtics because they have a high standard for them and it should be the same with hawk fans. Cleveland fans are not real fans. Half of them think lebum already has like five rings or something. Plus he didnt spit in the fans faces after stinking up the court in a must win. I doubt the people who booed Joe want him back.
Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted May 12, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 (edited) James is sporting the same number of Rings and Johnson. And James might be going out in the same round as Johnson this year. Yup, and the similarities pretty much end there. James averaged 30 points 8 rebounds and 8 assists during the playoffs, while Joe Johnson averaged 18 points on 38% shooting AND called out the fans in public. So in short your attempt at drawing some kind of parallel is an utter and complete failure. Not to mention Cleveland might actually still win the series. Difference being that they know was the key part of my post you missed. They aren't talking of their uber athletic PF (Hickson) and and gritty defensive C (Varejao) being able to step up or the newcomer scorer (Jamison) being able to replace his production. Cleveland fans know they are pretty much sunk if Lebron leaves..... and they even have capspace. Sure they are not on the same level as players but one cannot argue that the impacts that both players have on their respective teams are huge. We're mad that JJ said he "doesn't care about us" well.....we'll see if Cleveland is mad when Lebron is wearing a Yankee hat in his exit interview again come two days. Premium Member Diesel Posted May 12, 2010 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 so now Joe is on the same level as Lebron ? oh wow roflmao I really wish I could do the Hubie brown radio laugh right about now This isn't about level. This is about respect fans have for their star player. Even when our star player was Antoine Walker and we were putting up a 13 win season, the fans didn't boo Walker. Hawks fans are so funny. As soon as we get somebody good like Smitty, Deke, Joe, etc... and they don't live up to our perceived standards.... we are not going to rest until they are run out of town. Smitty was run out of town. Deke was run out of town. Shareef was run out of town. Instead of doing what other teams do and trying to find a way to make these good players fit more better... we're content booing them. Running them out of town... and then the same fans will disappear when the wins dry up. How do you replace Joe? Somebody tell me. What's your plan for replacing his defense, his assists, his 21 points?? These other guys won't step up... For the most part, they have been sleeping under the shade that Joe has provided. But Joe earned his boos... We don't even know if Joe was injured... Just know that things wasn't the way we wanted them so BOO....

It's just like I told you, any fool coach can lose with the series on the line by 30 at home!" lol ~lw3
