DJKadafi
Free agent big man Etan Thomas is close to signing a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks, one source told HoopsHype.com. The outspoken nine-year veteran averaged 3.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg in limited playing time with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. http://blogs.hoopshype.com/blogs/sierra/2010/08/28/etan-thomas-atlanta-bound/

RT3
WOW, the Hawks make it really hard to be a fan.
frankthetank966
I am going to say this is a solid signing he is aggressive and can get rebounds.
Dsinner
I am going to say this is a solid signing he is aggressive and can get rebounds. Def not an impact player but I've always liked his game as a bench guy. Still though, Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
Joker
I am going to say this is a solid signing he is aggressive and can get rebounds. Yup, and lol at rt3, they haven't made a title move but solid moves they have made.
Admin
Hell yes!! Not that I think he'll be a difference maker here but damn I've been waiting for a decade for the Hawks to land one of my favorite 'Cuse players of all time.
DrReality
Now we have a few players that arent afraid to mix it up inside and I think collectively they will have an impact on the attitude of this team.
gtmike
Good move to strengthen our poet forward position.
GameTime
Great move. Our best move this offseason. He is a defensive stud that can rebound and block shots exceptionally. He automatically becomes our best big off the bench. Edited August 29, 2010 by GameTime
JTB
I like this move. one thing about etan he's a banger, plus he knows what the playoff experince is like when facing BIGs in the post season! remember he did face LA and even though LA won, etan still got a good taste of what it means to play hard ball in the post dealing with bynum and gasol. i like this move not championship move but solid. Etan should be able to help us out. according to NBA.com Etan Thomas is 6'10 height 260 weight. which is the average size at center today. IHeartAtlanta
Well at least he is a much better player than Randolph Morris........
HalfHawk
I know his defense is on par, but I've never heard about his offensive game. Anyone on his offense?
Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted August 29, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted August 29, 2010 How did Hunter used to say it... "Works for me." Adequate as a change-up for Zaza. Seems to be recovered from his heart ailment. He'll enjoy the poetry slam scene here if he doesn't already. ~lw3
PaceRam
This doesn't sound like a bad move - Not an impact move I was hoping for but it should strengthen the bench and hopefully give Horford an occasional breather. But, while I was trying to get some information on Thomas I thought I read that he had (has?) some health issues? Is this true and can anyone give more information on this (should this be a concern?)?
jerrywest
I guess we won't get an outside shooting center who will help Josh get some SF minutes. We got Thomas, JC2 & Powell. for Morris, Joe Smith & Mario. ASG is looking for a nickname for marketing purposes for the 3 new players.
Anansi
I like the move, honestly we were hoping for Dampier and Thomas is close to equal in terms of talent (or lack thereof) so I'm fine with it considering this is about the best the All Stupid Group is willing to give us. ViperXX79
I guess as long as he keeps his mouth shut it's a decent move.
WraithSentinel
This would be a good signing for the Hawks. :thumbsupsmileyanim:
tremor
This signing makes me question even more former acquisition of by far the worst Hawks player in recent years - Jason Collins.
