AUhawksfan
Joe should be in his prime at this point but it's like he's digressing in his career which is not a good sign. He's shying away from contact even more, and I didn't think that possible. I hope he catches a second wind sometime soon. I always watch this video to remind myself of what he can do, this was Joe at his peak in my eyes: And by the way, that old school video reminds me how ugly our home court used to be. I'm loving the new color scheme even more! Lol Edited March 13, 2011 by AUhawksfan
Premium Member QuantumHawkz Posted March 13, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 13, 2011 com' on squawkers, joe's just in a little funk rite now. He'll bounce back. Besides they asked him at the all star game " how is the elbow?". He said" fine, but not 100%". and on top of that he's been dealing with an calf injury, so joe's just banged up from what you just saw in the highlight reel. Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted March 13, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 13, 2011 The guy must have some sort of injury. That's all I can come up with. How else do you explain such a decline in his outside shooting percentage? Has there ever been a case of a high volume career 37% 3 point shooter not being able to buy a bucket from outside all of a sudden?
TheTruth
For our team's fortunes sake...his largely uncharacteristic decline BETTER be due to an injury and not say, I dunno, apathy, older age, shying away from contact, etc...
tremor
Another problem is Joe making lots of TOs lately. He looks so slow. His inside game is excellent though. I wish he put all things together and played like he's capable to.
pimp
We don't even need "that Joe" on this current team. .We need the Phx Sun's Joe. The Joe Johnson that was very good at playing off the ball, and shot a high percentage on 3s.Not the "keep the ball the entire possession and repeatedly dribbling into trouble and shooting off balanced shots Joe."

I agree 100%, he's only going to wear his body down even more. He needs to play more off the ball. The only problem is we don't have a Nash to create those type of opportunities for him here. That offense was much more potent.
BIgAl
After the arm injury he can't make a jumpshot. :S In those season he was one of the best shooters in the NBA for sure. He's frustrated right now and teams double team him every game + he plays with Smith :D Kobe, Lebron deal with it very well coz they are so competitive. If you are not so competitive it hurts you, the pressure.
JackB1
Joe seems to slow down the same time every year. He gets worn out by Mar and plays lethargic the rest of the season and the playoffs. Yes he might have some injury but u would never know because he doesn't speak.
Gray Mule
JJ needs to take a week off and do nothing. Something ails him. Is he injured? Is he ill? Does he hate Kirk and miss Bibby? Go away. Leave us. Then, see if we can have the old JJ back. We really, really need JJ but we don't need him the way he's playing right now. :stirthepot: Edited March 15, 2011 by Gray Mule

jhay610
He was in ATL tonight Indeed, there has been an OSJ (old school joe) sighting. Looked like a young buck (not the Milwaukee variety) out there with the headband.
