Premium Member Diesel Posted November 29, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 29, 2011 The amnesty wouldn't void Marvin's contract; it would simply take it off the Hawks' books for cap and tax purposes. Marvin would still get paid every cent under his current contract. Nice try, though. Yes, he would get paid, but do you think he would ever get another job again? Marvin is a contract player. Some people are too blind to see it, but look it over. IN his contract year, he gets off his lazy *ss and puts up just enough of an effort to get him a new contract. Do you think Marvin really want to go on the Market with what he put up last year? Last year, Marvin showed just how unneeded and Albatrosic he really is. We found that we actually do better when Marvin is on the bench and Twin starts at C. We found that Smoove taking 3 - 7 three pointers a game is better at Sf than Marvin and his nonimpactful minutes. Marvin wants everybody to read the press and hope that we don't resign twin and he can go back to wasting our time at the 3. Marvin wants people to think that the success of the big lineup over the small lineup was only because he was injured. It was a nice try but Marvin has been making excuses for himself since he entered the league. This is just another one. What will he say when he comes back out of shape? Surgery?? Put a tab on this post and I will ask again in January. The amnesty wouldn't void Marvin's contract; it would simply take it off the Hawks' books for cap and tax purposes. Guest Walter
Sx doesn't have to make MW better. It can make him worse. Marvin likely had a disc injury that he never appropriately and fully rehabbed. While you can remove the bad part of a disc with a microlumbar diskectomy and that can "heal", the relative healing isn't likely anywhere near 100% (See Baker for the Falcons = never likely full recovery and eventual reinjury). To compete at this level a back injury even post Sx is major. Worst case scenario is MW has degenerative disc disease. He's had this problem for years and it's likely never fully resolved meaning he's battered this disc for years likely to the point that the disc will never fully heal period. I'm a back specialist P.T. and I've had a herniated disc (many times), degenerated disc disease, eventual 2 level artificial disc replacement overseas (very successful)...MW may play better for a bit but this condition is very poorly managed, I would say even by athletic trainers/sport specific P.T.s and his back is a ticking time bomb. Moreover MW looses his balance so easily he is bound to fall on his back. Simply put, we may be stuck with the risk and may have to hope for the reward, but if we had ANY chance to get out of this we should run for the hills.
