My new nickname for Josh

I thought brick had a good first half especially the first quarter (he was like 5 -6) but after that he was taking terrible jumpers instead of taking it inside...and some of those jumpers were at in opportune times. He shouldn't be allowed to take a shot from outside 8 feet.

I think it was that Al Horford thread that made you feel like doing this. But anyways, you should be giving him props instead of taking another jab at him. He's out there playing sick with the stomach flue and put up 19 11 3. More like Kudo's to Smoove.

He bricked A LOT of long twos,..and he was fading away while taking them too

He tends to take those jumpers when he's tired or offense has been stagnant. Drew needs to take him out during that span. Gutty all around performance imo. although Portland has the worst bench ever assembled.

I guess the stat sheet was a little misleading. Like many other Hawk fans I think if Josh Smith would take less (a lot less!) long range outside shots he could be awesome!

Josh was out of control late in the game, his 4th quarter was atrocious. He just isn't a go-to guy and shouldn't be allowed to act like one. Other than that he was OK.Horford still needs more shots. Our winning run started with two cold-blooded baskets by Horf in the paint. We should play through him in close games.

It's hilarious that someone like Smith can go 9-22 taking horrible shots yet some people think that's awesome and somehow superstar worthy. Marvin could score 20 points if he was allowed to shoot that much. Hell he'd probably get more considering he at least has some kind of mid range game.

And those "cold-blooded baskets by Horf" were set up by Josh Smith assists. So, how do they prove we should play through Horford when those baskets were not setup by playing through him? A big part of winning that game was Josh Smith's defense and assists during the 2nd half of the 4th quarter.

His jump shot is still terrible and are bricks...if he would stay near the basket he would avg around 20 and his FG% would be above .500. He shot something like 4 - 14 after his initial start to the game.
