Lebron is the crown jewel but that would mean koby plays next year with what?

Kobe like KG and other will have to take less. The real position LAL would need is center. They can get a PG or SF in the draft. If they suck real bad, they could get a top 5 pick. You know that will probably be Aaron Gordon, Randle, McGary, Smart or Wiggins and/or Parker. LAL can't lose next year without D12. They lose games, they talk about Lebron everyday and the draft. They win and their fans will be happy till they get killed in the playoffs. It is very likely they will lose. No depth, no young talent, bad fits, really old, Kobe might be out for awhile.

The Los Angeles Lakers have not broached the possibility of a sign-and-trade of Dwight Howard in the team's in-house discussions.

The Lakers and Howard have maintained "A LOT" of dialogue with Howard's representatives since May, according to a source.

Howard will be a free agent in July.

The Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers had reportedly been linked as possible trade partners in a deal centering on Howard and Blake Griffin.

I am trying to figure out how Doc/Garnett for 1-2 years makes Paul want to sign long term. I don't see Doc staying when KG retires.

Maybe CP3 signs a 3 year deal with the 3rd year being an option? That gives him a short window to try and win a championship and then in 2016 get one last shot at a max deal.
