Realistically: what's our pitch to Dwight?

-Buddy angle: I can't see Josh being retained, and a Josh/Al/D12 frontcourt, while formidable defensively, is disastrous on the offensive end

-Talent angle: Harden (alone or + Parsons) trumps Al and remaining cap space

-Home angle: brings plenty of drama, not to mention added pressure, which I'm not sure Dwight is equipped to handle; we didn't exactly treat Josh like royalty

-Rabid fanbase angle: aside from our impassioned Hawksquawk community (almost single-handedly powered by JTB), the city just doesn't care (though with a superstar addition, they might)

*Committed, whatever-it-takes ownership angle: Despite the muzzling of Gearon and Danny's hiring, I'd imagine it's still going to take years to undo the real-and-perceived dysfunction and dishonesty

-Face-of-franchise angle: strongest argument, as it does seem a high priority

-Savior angle: it takes a special person and competitor to want and lead that challenge; CP3 embraced it in Clipperland; not sure Dwight wants or can bear that burden (also see Home angle)

-Spurs-of-the-East angle: there's no doubt that Danny and Bud bring a degree of clout, credibility and vision

Overall, sound enticing?

See, I think our situations for your 'home angle' and 'fanbase angle' are closer to what Dwight is actually comfortable with. Obviously, I'm mind-reading here.

Lol why Thankyou! Really though I wouldn't believe so hard if Ferry wasnt the GM I really do believe the ASG has finally given a GM all the power!

Ferry along with coach bud I'm sure we have a chance at getting this done!

I haven't really thought of a pitch I would through at Dwight but I would make sure I remind him that no championship is going to be easy and if he wants to compete he is going to need help and if he wants to compete and win and build a dynasty he needs to be in the right system along with another star player and the right role players.

That's all to it!

I would give him the knuckle curve, but that's just me.

Oh and since we're out in LA trying to woo Dwight, I might look into the porn industry and find Brianna Blair and have her stop by for a visit with Dwight and let her wear her old Hawks cheerleading uniform. Let her show him all about team spirit and taking one for the team!

So the rabid fanbase angle?

Here's the pitch:

How would you like to be a part of a dynasty? A dynasty that will go down in history as probably having the best frontcourt ever. You will finally be a part of a team where you were the face, but all the pressure wasn't placed on you. We have that in Atlanta. IF you go to Dallas, you might win a few, but that team is not good enough to beat the competition in the west. IF you go to Houston, if you all can ever get the money right, Lin is a turnover machine that doesn't do good in playoff pressure and Harden is as much a ballhog as Kobe. Here in Atlanta, if you come, we're getting Paul. We will have the best team that this game has ever seen.

And then if we don't get Chris Paul, you'd better expect to hear those Dwight trade rumors out of Atlanta as soon as the deadline approaches!

It looks like Houston is pull out all the stops for him, i think we should talk to Rockets about doing a SNT for Josh if they going to pull out all the stops for him.

For our pitch, I just dont know what that DF can say. This team is behind of the curve for everything for Dwight from Recruiting or anything like that.

So The Rockets are using McHale, Morey, Harden, Parsons and now the Dream to recruit Dwight. How on earth are we supposed to match up with that?

I don't think Schröder and BeBe are ready to start. At one point, we also have to keep in mind the mentality of these kids (no pun intended). It's one thing to already be questioning their readiness on a physical level, but we should also keep in mind the downside of playing a kid too early on his mentality.

Dennis is, I think he will be more impactful at PG than Teague just due to the fact he's playing with Horford who is great at PnR's. I think Dennis coming out of Europe is more like Jennings than Rondo but I see the comparisons to both players.

Bebe, he's clearly not ready yet. With that said, he doesn't have to be.

Al is the best 4 for your style that you'll ever play next to in your career. He'll take the load off you on the defensive end to get every rebound because he bangs on the glass, and his automatic jumper from the high post will free up space for you down low on the offensive end, as well as being a great passer. "Listen fool, you could dominate again next to him."

I don't understand his fascination with Houston. I've been there. Nothing but heat and Oil refineries.

It's a pretty cool urban town. It's kinda like the Atlanta of Texas large African American population used to be a cool hip hop town before everyone died from drinking syrup

Dallas's pitch:

Free agency begins tonight at 9 p.m. PST and the Houston Rockets will be the first of five teams to meet with Dwight Howard in Los Angeles.

All five teams will persuade Howard to leave Los Angeles to be their number one option and how the championship aspirations will follow upon his arrival. However, Dallas is taking this one step further — a restaurant is prepared to offer Howard a lifetime supply of chicken fingers if he signs with the Mavericks (h/t SportsDay DFW):

As the wooing of Dwight Howard officially begins, Dallas-Fort Worth-area Raising Cane’s restaurants are offering free-agent center Howard food for thought – for the rest of his life.

On Monday, Raising Cane’s will kick off a campaign inviting Mavericks fans to help persuade Howard to sign with Dallas. The company has leased six electronic billboards to help publicize its cooked-up offer to Howard.

Raising Cane’s marketing manager Adam Reed says that if Howard signs with the Mavericks, “he will be welcome to come by any of our (20) local restaurants to enjoy seriously delicious chicken fingers at any time, on us, for the rest of his life.”

An absolute game changer. Not.

Interestingly enough, if Dwight Howard does decide to sign with the Mavericks and take advantage of this lifetime supply of chicken fingers, it would cost the restaurant between $192,628 and $530,621 worth of chicken. Also, the Dallas organization will likely not be fined for tampering as it appears food incentives do not go against the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.

There’s a 20 percent chance Howard will sign with the Dallas Chicken Fingers, but if I was Howard, why give up $30 million and a better opportunity to have championship rings on your fingers instead?

If chicken fingers are really a concern, there are plenty of restaurants here in Los Angeles that will gladly match Dallas’ offer.
