Premium Member Sothron Posted February 1, 2014 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 I'll let rotoworld sum it up so far: Gustavo Ayón took his turn at the pinata in Friday's blowout win over Philly, scoring seven points on 3-of-4 shooting with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block over 23 minutes in another start at center. Ayón has been useful since moving into the starting lineup over the last three games, returning late-round value on averages of 7.0 points, 7.0 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 71.4 percent field goal shooting. He has turned the ball over 3.0 times per game in that span but he's worth a short-term look if you need a big man while Pero Antić is out. I thought signing him was a great low risk buy for a guy who routinely showed in the past that he was a more than serviceable center when given minutes. Now we are finally starting to see it.

MaceCase
That move he made in the first quarter was godly. I wondered out loud "who is that? Can't be Ayón, Ayón would have either traveled, bricked the layup or gotten blocked."
benhillboy
That's a nice starting line for him. I prefer Brand with the 2-hand rebounds and the free throw jumpers, though.
Randy
It just goes to show, in the NBA, players get better with playing......not just with practice.
Moderators macdaddy Posted February 3, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted February 3, 2014 I was at the twolves game and despite Love dropping 42/19 or whatever Ayón defended him pretty well i thought. Love worked for a lot of those hoops. Plus Ayón's 2 points came at a great time.
