What bull shit is this? Asik didn't receive a single DPOY vote. He didn't even receive a single vote for either of the All Defense teams and last I checked Houston couldn't get a first for him either.

All the Philly players are overrated based on their raw statistics due to the Sixers playing at such a fast pace. They play at a league leading pace of 99.8 so of course an inefficient limited player like Turner looks good on PPG, etc. when he gets a ton of possessions often against teams that have such large leads that they have already checked out. By way of contrast, the Hawks produce 95.2 possessions per game and we are the 9th fasted team. A slow team like Chicago barely has a pace of 90.

His 13 PER and .031 WS/48 this season says much more. Mike Scott is putting up an 18.7 PER and a .148 WS/48 by way of comparison.

Turner is not as good as Scott and is more on the level of Nick Young, Nate Wolters, or Richard Jefferson than he is any good rotation player. He is going to get overpaid based on his draft position and his inflated statistics.

Avoid.

I would love to try and get the rights to Karasev from the Cavs. I think that guy could really turn into a great player in the right system as he already has great fundamentals and comes from a good bball pedigree. It wouldn't be a blockbuster move but could add some depth at the 3 and might really pay off dividends in the next few years. He would fit right in under Coach Bud. Anybody think we could get him for a 2nd and junk filler (Jenkins or Cunningham, etc)? What would it take?

This might be an unpopular choice but I think Pau Gasol is the perfect 5 for the Bud/Ferry system. He's very unselfish and one of the best passing centers in the leagueWe might be better off just waiting for the offseason to sign him when he's a free agent though

Should've traded Josh Smith for Gasol 2 years ago . . but that's water under the bridge now.

And for the record . . . I don't think Ferry is going to do a dang thing at the trade deadline. You'll hear rumors, like last year. But he won't do anything.

I agree. The ASG is not going to allow him to take on additional salary with a half empty Phillips arena.

Let me address this. We had a thread earlier in the year about Asik and a possible trade and that is what I was referring to. I stand corrected. But I will say this! when Asik was the starting center in Houston he did his job, good defender and rebounder. Edited by Vol4ever

It very well may be that Ferry doesnt do anything before the deadline. However i totally disagree that it would be because of empty seats or the ASG. In my opinion it would be because Ferry didnt see a beneficial trade for us.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed. He isn't going to break the bank, as per instructions by his A$G overlords, for sure. But if he sees a reasonable deal that won't put us over the cap and will help the team, he'll pull the trigger.

I agree that Ferry will not upgrade team at deadline. He isn't much different than Sund IMO, stuck in his ways and thoughts. We have a middling first round pick and little cap space this summer to look forward to which is not very appealing to me.

He wont upgrade the team if he cant that is key. Sure he could make some moves im hoping Lou is traded for a second rounder if no upgrade is available so that we develop Dennis moreSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
