Why do people think Ariza will cost too much? I'd be willing to bet you he signs for at least 2 million less than Hawes gets. Ariza is a good player but he's a career journeyman and he's not gonna all of a sudden get a huge pay day at this age.

He can hope for a raise but I highly doubt he gets it. He made 7.2 this year and I'd say at best he gets 9 million with 2-3 years but I'd bet he's more likely to get around 8.

I really don't see hawes being all that expensive but if he does get a crazy offer as much as I want him I don't agree with the hawks giving him a crazy high paying contract to match other team offers.

Ariza will get 9-11 mil. NBA teams need SF's. Without one, you are in trouble. Ariza is the best 3 and D specialist SF in the NBA.

Naw, Centers are paid on their defensive presence more than not. If you lack it, you better be a great offensive player like Lopez. If you lack that, you will be seen as a rotational center which is what Hawes clearly is. If Hawes is your center, you don't have a legit starting center.

Not sure why you don't see Ariza getting 10-11 mil. The best 3&D player at a vital position where players aren't plentiful and you need someone for PG, Melo, Durant, and Bron. If he was a PG or a PF, I would agree but a SF, teams will pay.

Leonard is more than a 3&D player. He is one of the best SF's in the NBA. If he was willing to leave SAS, he could get max money. He is better than Hayward.

Well hawes isn't coming here to start I just want him in the rotation as I like the idea of keeping the floor spreaded with our bigs bad getting another slasher by Teague . However if we could add hill too and just cut Pero and let brand walk. I think we would have one of the better big man rotations in the nba.

I would like to see how that works out before bringing over bebe.

nbasupe got a good point here though dolf. There aren't many good small forwards avalible. It's kinda like the center position in the nba really, not a ton of good centers.

No wonder Loul Deng is demanding 13m...his agent knows there aren't many good SFs to choose from.

With that said if ferry and crew don't plan to draft one the gamble to pay big for a younger sf like Ariza may take place.
