Looking at the whole matter, Utah would have taken Hinrich for Korver.. Marvin for Devin... and Smoove for Sap/DMC if you want to separate the assets. The bottom line is that we could have had those guys.

Utah was playing Sap limited minutes because they wanted to play their young bug guys. They had no need for Josh.

Thanks for the feedback and heads up on Korver. The trade exceptions are always the hardest to track down.

And it's true that the flowcharts don't show everything, but hopefully they're useful within the larger context of understanding trade value and team building.

The thing he isn't taking into account is that it isn't a straight comparison. You would have to sign an extra six players with that cap room as well. Six more players to fill out the roster means less money to sign Sap, Korver, etc.

Yep that's another factor as well. As the dude would say, there's a lot of in's and out's and what have you's here to deal with so it's not a black or white comparison as it's mostly gray area.
