Bud says that trading AP was about more than just clearing up the big rotation, but that don't feel pressured to add a player. Also, they are super-protective of their roster. I'm feeling that roster spot will be kept open for a 10-day contract if needed.

Also noted he mentioned the option of using the pick from the Payne trade in a deal down the line. I think that's more likely to happen than the Hawks ever seeing that pick from Minny.

• It was cold
• not much coaching
• thought the guys did well
• ran the 4 w/ Irving, Butler, Lebron(guys still love DMC)
• Thinks our bigs are sufficient(others opinions are just that)
• 7 footers who can't defend pick and roll or move well don't fit
• no big difference with Management role(was heavily involved already)
• Hopes Payne does well
• Trade was a win win
• Thinks team was consistent in first half of season so it should carry over
• happy with team
• wife is a dead head
• loves fan support, so important to homecourt advantage
• guys know they haven't really done anything yet(really mature group)

Yep Thabo is progressing well he said.  Not ready yet though.  Also, he says we are going to have to take rebounding as a team effort(guards getting involved).  Forgot to mention they really value the roster flexibility as well.

Well one thing to remember, they don't always tell the real truth on the radio ;-)

I think you have to kind of disregard what is said and look at actions. Trading Payne seems to be a big hint for me. Of course the things they likely hope they can pull off may not happen so it's only smart not to reveal your goals...then you won't be criticized if something doesn't work out.
