What if we could get prime Joe Johnson with Sap/Horford and Marvin with Korver?

Why?

History clearly and resoundingly shows that you need future hall of fame caliber players to win NBA titles.  Players that are routinely All NBA first and second teamers.  Nobody in that lineup fits that criterea.  So, no.  That team won't win any titles.

Joe Johnson has Hall of Fame credentials if you just look at the numbers and see he's been a 6 or 7 time All star

That's more than Reggie Miller

Has Joe ever been considered a great player?  Was Joe routinely All NBA first and second team?  No.  You know Joe was never a guy who could lead a team to a title.

One reason why not is because Paul has gotten where he cannot dribble or hold onto the ball down low, and especially during crunch time.  It is like butterfingers.  The group you assembled just wouldn't hold up under the pressure at the end of 4th quarters.

Do you all remember how talented that 2009 2010 Hawks team was. They play no team Basketball, was terribly coached and had a ton of talent. The most talented team in the East. You replace Smoove with Sap and get Bud's system and you guys don't think this would be a top tier NBA team?

No one is disputing that being a good team.  But you need great players to win titles and that team doesn't have them.

Teague/Dennis

Korver

Prime Joe/Marvin

Sap

Horford

Coach Bud, no Woody or LD.

Could this team win a title?

Nope, It's still a bad rebounding team... even worse as Joe has always been a terrible rebounder for his size.
We would still go through those long offensive droughts when the jumpers aren't falling.
No slashers to get to the rim,
still no decent post players
Joe, Korver and Horford rarely get to the free throw line, and Marvin can't  drive without falling down more than Maggie Simpson.
Teauge /Korver backcourt would still be getting lit up.
That team would likely be bad a running fast breaks as there are no finishers on the wings. Joe and Korver would both run towards the 3 point line everytime.

Teague is the only player in that lineup that would (not could) get to the foul line.  Joe was clutch a good bit but as it has already has been said none of the guys are HOFers. Winning it all takes one or two (not counting the Billups Detroit team). Detroit was an aberration to the must have a HOF philosophy. Possibly they could make out of the East but I think that's the ceiling.

We probably  would have won atleast two games against the Cavs if Joe had just signed with us this year. We likely win game 1 and 4 with Joe closing out the game. Joe  is still clutch and can get his own shot and that's all we needed. He's also guarded Lebron pretty well in the past. He's another big body  that should be able to guard  without the double.

Joe wasn't clutch last night though.

He may not have been clutch last night I didn't watch, but he has played well in these playoffs and hit big shots. Noone  is clutch every night.
