In with  a chance to get a free agent  or stay the same.

Gotcha. Did we not have a chance before trading our starting PG for a draft and stash player and cap room? Seemed like we had plenty unless they're trying to resign Baze for 15/year like I'm afraid is about to happen.

1. you assume a draft and stash player

2. Cap room is not only for free agents like was previously mentioned - we can also  take on a player we have interest in (see Kyle Korver from the JJ trade)

3. Like I said wether it's Baze or another free agent we need space.

4. I've already broken down our cap numbers too many times and I don't feel like doing it here  again

I see where you're coming from.

Yes I assumed draft and stash because we are apparently trying to free up cap space.. that would fit the bill.

Basically if Dennis and AL aren't on the hawks BEASTING for years to come then this trade will be foolish. The Hawks are going all in with those two.

Lol I know right. The only way I like this is if you sign Al long-term and make him the stretch 4. He can't play center anymore, he doesn't play like one that's for sure.

Trade Millsap for a talented wing player, let Baze walk for anything more then 10/year and sign a REAL big man.

The only offers that matter are the ones to move up for a valved asset.

Well that goes without saying, Joel Bro-steen.

I say that because based on Marc Stein's tweet saying we're already shopping these picks to try to impress Horford. So clearly that is who the front office wants to build around if we're about to pay him a 9 figure contract.

Then obviously Dennis is the point guard of the future. This is the only part I don't have a problem with - I thought we definitely needed to keep him over Teague.

Basically, my issue with this trade is I feel we should have gotten a MUCH better return for Teague. Last season, in a stronger draft, we traded the 15th pick for Tim freaking Hardaway. Apparently he's pretty much valued the same as Teague (I know he has one year left on the contract) - so in my opinion since we didn't get a starting caliber player for the 15th pick we either got fleeced last year or fleeced this year. Probably both.

If the number 12 pick comes anywhere close to having the type of production Teague has had in his career we would consider ourselves extremely lucky.

Stein says we are shopping picks to make it easier to sign Horford which is phony balony.   We don't need to trade our picks to resign Horford.  Stein's comment was in a word - bullshit. got everyone in a tizzy for no reason.

So let me get this straight.  We managed to snag a #12 pick for an unpredictable and heartless point guard , that I will add , there was no way in hell we were resigning next year , and you bi-polar gluttons for punishment do not like the move? Wth is wrong with you guys?
