Think we're positioned to get the best seasons of D8's career

Just watch this interview if you hadn't already (SIAP in another thread).

No one can predict physical health, but I'm talking about the spirit and the attitude--the maturity and this right combination of humility and confidence--that I'm seeing from Dwight. I'm just really impressed. This is a well-grounded human being. 

Sure, we're eventually going to lose some games, but this much is right about this team. And unlike some here, there's no hard feelings that compel me to disavow what Al brought to the team in that way. Somehow, though, I do feel at least somewhat more assured b/c Dwight has been under brighter lights and higher expectations. If/when he settles in, this is going to be a damn hard team to beat, both now and in the post-season.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm a big Dwight fan now. Needs to bring a little more energy, lol, but I'm happy to have an Atlanta boy. With a sense of humor too!

Howard is pushing Embiid all over the floor.   I love his rebounding and shot blocking.  He's the reason I'm watching a Hawks game at 2 o'clock on a Saturday.

Even if this isn't his best season points wise, if he continues gobbling up rebounds and being a post presence to open up our shooting then label me a happy guy.

I'm sure Bud sold Dwight on the idea that he could easily make us the top defensive team in the league, thus making him the DPOY and Comeback Player of the Year, with little emphasis on scoring.  A young 2 games in, the prospects are looking promising.

Hadn't thought about that but a very good point. If Dwight isn't as concerned about scoring as we thought it can help the team in several situations during games. He will still help us with spacing just because of the threat on the block. Dwight looked fine and was being friendly on the court after the game yesterday so maybe a good sign there. No disgruntled facial expressions that I saw.

Can't wait to see how Dwight deals with Cousins.  Gotta defend the entire floor, keep him off the offensive glass, and keep his cool.  Big test.
