Completely agree. As many have said, getting too cute with this #3 will set us back for years more than we already are. Take the best player on the board, and see then about moving back up into the top 10 if you think Young is good. My strong fear is they've so locked in on Young they're discounting the rest of the talent on the board.

What is really funny is most of these writers are not scouts. Jay Bilas has missed so many picks with his infamous words, "he will be a good pro". I am to the point of declaring if he likes the player, you have better odds steering clear of him. He gets like 1 out of 4 right on a good day.

Of the top ten players selected in the 2015 draft, only three have a positive VORP over 2.0.

#1 KAT 14.0

#4 Porzingis 2.8

#6 Willie Cauley Stein 2.5

Miles Turner taken 11th has the highest VORP of anyone not named KAT at 4.0.

I refuse to bash our picks this year until I see them play. The damn draft is so frustrating; it is almost like no writer or exec in the NBA knows what they are doing or talking about.

I hope Schlenk does try to get something to give us a Ricky Williams / NJ Nets type of deal but short of that I am not on board with the deals I’m seeing.  7/22 is just laughable for example.

I was never enamored with Ho Grant and Dennis was probably too much of a specialist for a 3 at that time.  I forgot they got swept by the Bulls in the Con Finals after winning 60 games.  Jeesh.  

I also forgot just how Leathal and ahead of his time D3 was tho.  8 three point attempts per game shooting .425 over 20 years ago?  Goddamn.  Nick wasn’t far behind at 6 attempts for .391.  On the flip side, Nick shooting .692 (including some epic misses) and Penny at .767 from the line doesn’t mesh well with Shaq bending the rim from the line too.

And y’all know damn well a team playing John Koncak 19 minutes a game ain’t making no noise.

Off on a tangent but what the hell are these ESPN draft analytics percentages.  Anyway, I like what I hear of Brunson and him being projected to us at 30.  And Melo back to NY?  WTF.

I’m an Ainge fan, unlike anyone else here lol.  But I don’t wanna hear sh@t about him moving into the top of the draft anymore.  Notice to NBA: Jaylen Brown will fall off a cliff on most any other team.  Don’t do it!!!!!

Delete this rancid thought!  The Young to ATL thing makes a great deal of sense, but I honestly think if we get him it will be moving up and not down.  While Baze's contract is not the best, it is damn sure far from the worst and I don't think we will need to surrender much to move him.
