What do you feel about these guys???

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

But let's think of the good that these guys did...

They kept the Hawks in Atlanta. 

They basically outbidded David McDavid who were going to take the Hawks out of Atlanta if he had bought the team. 

But should these guys be celebrated?

Should they be shunned?

How do they compare to the current Regime?

Shunned.  Historically bad owners.  I don’t think McDavid was ever cleared to actually own a team but avoiding him would be the only real upside from that clown show.

McDavid was trying to seperate the team from their lease with the city through the arena when ASG came along and made their bid.

Hockey has to be built.   Maybe one day the Gladiators will make it.   The Thrashers by all reports were losing money.   A lot of money I believe 130 Million is the figure I have seen.  A lot of cities made good offers.

they were always destined to fail.  Just look at the two sorry excuses for hockey sticks they are holding in the photo.   Those probably cost $5 each and would be much better served as firewood than sporting equipment.

It was built.  ASG started tearing it down as soon as they bought it.

Seeing this tweet below got me thinking of this thread and the history of the Hawks. Do we have the greatest Atlanta Hawks team of players that never played for us? WARNING, may invoke feelings!!!  

 

Lemme see… am I missing anybody (looked at both players we drafted and traded for)?

SG: David Thompson / Kelly Oubre Jr. / Devonte’ Graham
SF: Carmelo Anthony / Billy Thompson / Rudy Gay

Dr J was in Hawks training camp and played preseason games, but he was drafted by the Bucks.  Interesting story here:

Yeah, that’s crazy! Although he technically played games for the Hawks, it was preseason and should at least be considered as an honorable mention (unreal). Wow, if you include players that played less than 5 games with the team, I don’t think anyone could build a roster as stacked as this!
