*8 players from the 2020 class have signed extensions:

Anthony Edwards

Tyrese Haliburton

LaMelo Ball

Desmond Bane

Devin Vassell

Isaiah Stewart

Payton Pritchard

Zeke Nnaji - this one is confusing.

*Corrected.

My hope is that we extend them both on good deals.  I think there's more risk with OO as he feels primed to have a breakout season, and if we force him to play for a contract with Capela still on the roster, it's going to be a difficult situation to manage.  If we manage to extend either, I'm thinking:

  • OO: 5 years, $110M
  • Bey: 3 years, $55M

T-Minus 8 hours.....

Given our new coaching staff, it feels like we'd want to lock guys in more so than we did under Nate.  Under Nate, I did not trust that staff to develop guys to their full potential so making them "prove themselves" in the final contract year made more sense.  I'm afraid if we go that route under Quin, these two guys are going to make leaps this year and we're going to get some heavy offers to match next offseason.

Of course, I have not gone through what teams have cap space next year and who might be interested in making an offer, but that is probably something our front office is doing.  Maybe it makes sense to roll the dice on matching offers next offseason if we feel like these two won't have a huge market.  It feels like they probably will have suitors though, both are young and getting better and very versatile players.

How long before Bey gets into an altercation. I’ve been there, at this point he’s already in mid season mindset mode due to his regime outside the floor…

I give it 3-5 games and we might be in for … as my friend likes to say…

FFFFFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHTTTTTTT!!!! 😂

Not promoting of desiring this but if it happens I wonder who gets into it with him? Would it be a dude about his size or is he gonna scuffle with the centers too. 😂

I love Bey. I love OO. I say start them both I think they will show us their worth this upcoming season.

I’m in the Bey>Hunter and OO>Cap club.
