What's the consensus on JJ at the 3? Saw some flashes of him guarding DeRozan, but inconsistent to say the least. Is it something he could improve? Or is the footwork just not there?

JJ / Sarr / OO in the frontcourt

JJ as a 3 is a disaster. 

OO and Sarr is way too small of a front court with Trae. 

Clingan is the only one that makes sense.

He can play it. There isn’t much difference between the two positions in Quin’s system.  Quin will love the capability to mix and match.

Update:

Sarr is the FO favorite at this moment. Ressler wants to keep the pick and not trade it since it is the first ever Hawks #1 lottery pick.

The best thing about Sarr is he is 7'1", athletic, has great defensive instincts, and he can shoot -- he's the archetype of big that every single in the team would kill for.

You keep saying Clingan is the fit with Trae..... you know Trae has speed and likes to run the floor right? You know Trae likes spacing right? Clingan don't do those things like Sarr.

Clingan is OK.  Ultimately, he’s too slow footed to be an elite defender.  He will be great as a drop defender, but he doesn’t move well enough to switch, stunt, or hedge.   He’s better than Edey, but he’s not a mover like Wemby/Holmgren.  Sarr is.
