shock
portland trades pick 3 to utah for pick 6, 27, and a 2006 1st rounder from detroit
Premium Member sturt Posted June 28, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 Looks like that effectively locks us in to #2, doesn't it? No way to trade w/ Charlotte anyway since #5 won't yield Paul or Deron.
Final_quest
This deal makes us getting Marvin more likely. Portland gets the player they want plus two more 1st rounders, although they are late first rounders. I thought Portland was trying to unload a bad contract, guess they couldn't find any takers. Premium Member Diesel Posted June 28, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 N.O. is definitely a wildcard... But they don't need a PG really... Not as much as they may need a Big man (SF/PF). It's going to be interesting.
Premium Member Wretch Posted June 28, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 They were unsure about who we were drafting? If there was any chance at all that we would pass on Marvin, would they go ahead and ink a deal with the Jazz? For sh!ts sake, let's say we take Deron... Marvin then falls into PTLs lap, but they've already inked a deal for the #6? Utah loses out on Deron, who they apparently like and now have to go with Paul. Either we have most certainly told teams that we are taking Marvin, and it is set in stone or teams (including us and PTL) do not believe that Marvin has the potential that he's made out to have. ...or did I miss the part where this deal is contingent upon us picking Marvin? Final_quest
It is becoming more and more clear that we are taking Marvin.
Lascar78
well apparently Utah threatened to pull the deal if it didn't happen before the draft. So they're taking their chances. I can't imagine BK telling anyone anything about our pick

It's going to be interesting. The hell they don't. Dan Dickau should not be starting for any NBA Team. He still struggles with his shot (40% fg), and he is a defensive liability. Dickau is decent, but any of the top 4 points would be an upgrade. I also believe the Hornets are making a big mistake if they trade Magloire. Lascar78
yeah only Diesel seems to think Dickau is their PG of the future. It's obvious that they need a PG just as bad as we do
RedTalon
With the second pick the atl selects Marvin Williams. Red....
tmac13
Probably right, but I have read several places where N.O. absolutely loves Granger..Maybe a surprise?
emeans
All the reports I read says that New Orleans is getting a guard. They were impressed with Paul and Deron. They are going to draft one of those guys. The Hawks will draft Williams and keep him.
Premium Member Diesel Posted June 28, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 Did I say that Dickau was their PG of the future. I figure they have: Speedy Claxton... and if they trade Magloire to Toronto and get the 6 and 17th pick.. they will have a shot at Felton if they want and they will probably get Alston.. All that to say... They might look to get Granger while they can.
