Well i would say Jamal, Joe, Smith CAN get the the free throw line if they were looking to.

But all of them WONT be looking to get there at all.

Jamal has the quickness, handles, and veteran savvy to get there the most, but everyone has the ability to get there more than they do. We're paying Joe about 250K per FT attempt this season. And half of those were technicals.

Well i think Josh has lead the team in free throw attempts for aleast

the last 3 years , so I will say him.

It should be Joe, since he has the ball more often than anyone else,

take up to 20 shots at times.

From that list, here is where those players rank in Free Throw attempts per Field Goals attempted or just FTrate.

Jamal: .34

Jeffrey: .34

Marvin: .33

Joshua: .30

Alfred: .21

Joseph: .21

Kirkland: .10

Our top scorer and frontcourt are pathetic.

Just wanted to get your opinion.

IMO, I think Smoove. (if he drives more)

Joe if he would take it hard and stop doing his damned floater, soft lay-ups and fade aways. Joe can handle the ball (unlike Smoove) and is just about the same size as LBJ... he just isn't aggressive, ever.

People shouldn't just go by body frame and use that to determine how good a player should be when you consider a guy like Chris Kaman is physically comparable to Dwight and more skilled yet you would never confuse their impact. After cracking his face and the foot injury he suffered in his second year here Joe has not been an explosive athlete. The guy drives and posts plenty but he has to rely on fadeaways and floaters to get buckets because he can't jump over or speed by defenders for contact without getting his shots blocked. You look at a guy like Derrick Rose and you also notice that he doesn't get to the line much due to his style of play rather than his aggressiveness. Although better than Joe he still only has a pedestrian FTRate of .31 which is a career high for him despite the fact he is better known as a slasher and high flyer. The reason for this is that he shoots a lot of floaters and all of his layups are contortion up and unders that avoid the defender.

It really has to be an innate ability or part of your style of play to draw Fts, guys like Jamal and Kevin Durant draw them mostly on jumpers and not on any drives within 18 feet of the basket, guys like Marvin before he was relegated to the coffin corner and Ginobili thrive on low .40s rates because of their herky jerky moves to the basket and guys like Wade and Bron do it by freight train drives to the basket. It's mostly in your style of play and how you set defenders up rather than how aggressive you are, you can't just switch the way you score your buckets and play the game up and start mining for FTs. It's actually much easier losing that ability than gaining it *cough* Josh.
