Bonkers' Quick Summer League assesment

John Jenkins- Had a nice couple games to start the Summer league but by the end he really did not do much of anything. He is mos def not starter material at all. And he can't defend his own shadow. The only thing he might be a star in is a House Party remake where he plays Kid. Lol @ him finishing of the last game bricking a layup

Mike Scott- All around I think Scott did good. Although sometimes he looked like Marvin williams getting blocked at times lol. Has some moves

Lucas Noguiera- His potential is obvious. He can be a great defensive player imo. I wanted to see him in the 2nd half of the last game but he was injured. Had 4pts 4rebs 5 blks in 11 mins. Didn't show any offensive skills besides alley oops but he needs to stay in the U.S so he can develop faster. We saw flashes of Defensive brilliance

Dennis Shredder- Shredder was obviously the best of the four. His shot needs a lot of work but his point guard skills are very impressive. I estimate he would of averaged 10 assist a game if his teammates were not HOT FLAMING GARBAGE that kept messing up his great passes. His defense is amazing, putting full court pressure on his man throughout the entire game is a sight to see. I'm so ready to see him play with real NBA players

Shredder really impressed me last game and even more this game - WOW - I'm definitely a convert. The way the guy seems to be learning the NBA game so fast on the fly he HAS to be on our opening day roster

Bebe had a great spurt in this game before getting a hammy tweak. Selfishly (for the sake of the chatroom) I'd like to see him on the main team...but realistically the NBA-DL might be best for him

Jenkins = Mike "the Stinger" Glenn...basically a second team specialist.

Scott is a conundrum. He has skills but he's not explosive, and he would have to be a backup to both AL and Milsap. I hope they keep him.

Cunningham looks solid then he gets torched by McLemore. I think it comes down to nimbers between him and Scott. Hopefully there is a place for both.

Mack looks like a desperation PG at best...may come down to money.

Was fun though even though we lost most of the games.

mack is a good combo. i like him.

i don't know if cunningham has the grey matter between his ears.

agree on comments about jenkins. he is a decent backup; maybe a starter if he gets to be automatic from 3 and has unguardable players around him, but he is a 5th option. but lou is by far our best 2.

i also like scott, muscala, bebe, and Schröder.

the hawks need another talented, experienced wing, and i don't see him on this team.

There is no point to the NBADL. Just let him play in Spain and keep him on his rookie deal for another year if you are going to just develop him.

I think that Scott was the best hawk in summer league. He was a great scorer and rebounded the ball as well. I think Coach Bud will have to find some minutes somewhere for him. I think he deserves near at least 20 minutes a game.

Yeah...you are right AHF...I guess I was just thinking about the apparent quote from him that he "can't get bigger in Spain"...I dunno, I mean don't they have weight rooms, pasta, and performance enhancing substances over there?

Do they test for HGH over there?

I mean he doesn't have to gain THAT much weight.

Good thread Bonkers.

Moose- Solid player, has an all around skill-set, just needs to improve, get polish, and get in the weight room to improve his body.

Jenkins- Has starting potential and can score. He isn't ready to start yet.

Dennis- A Star. Needs to improve his shot, body, and defensive BBIQ could improve.

Bebe- Has All Star potential. Raw, needs to work on his body, and get smarter especially on D.

Scott- Looked like SL Brandon Bass out there. He has solid potential and could be a starter in the future.

Cunningham- A freak in transition, bad at most other things outside of defensive potential.

Mack- Struggled running a more complex offense.

I agree..Scott should be given time at the 3...Y'all keep talking about his lack of athleticism like Korver trumps him in that area LOL! Because all y'all are ready to start Korver at the 3.

Absolutely agree that you cannot start a Korver-Jenkins wing combination. Maybe if Jenkins got his shot together maybe but It looks spotty at best and he is terrible defensively as is Korver. Maybe start DMC at the 3 and Korver/Jenkins at the 2. Jenkins is definitely a bench player based on what I saw.

Cunningham can't shoot or dribble...Difficult to stay in the league if you can't do either.

Time to say good bye to Mack...He is worse at running the point than Lou Williams.

I'm torn about Bebe...Love his physical attributes and speed but he does need some work on his body and technique. And needs to get more physical. I'm fine either way (Europe vs here) Tough call.

Putting bebe back in Europe is counter productive cause he will have to play a totally different style of bball than he would here. Bring him over and get that boy working out with Elton brand and Paul Milsap

Nope. There's no real development in Spain. He's better off being on the roster and learning in practice.
