Offseason planning.

Hunter couldn't even shoot above 40% from the floor last year. He is not a potential star.

Hunter's a unique case. He was pretty much Georgia State's offense (along with Ryan Harrow). He also took a lot of bad shots he wouldn't have been able to get away with on other teams. I think his game is better than what the numbers would suggest.

I didn't want to comment on this until the hawks were out of the playoffs (if thats whats going to happen anyways) but I think what I have to say should happen regardless unless we win the NBA championship.

As far as the off season goes I say there is no way in hell you give Millsap 17m unless he starts to put this team on his back from here on out and winning games for us. But as of what Im seeing I wouldn't pay Sap 17m but like I have said before "Millsap has this franchise by the balls" so you can't just not keep him either and thats what hurts!

As for carroll Im bringing him back at 10-11m per and Im happy with that! He does everything plus more that the hawks ask him too so I say retain him for a 3 year contract at 10-11m per year.

Now lets go back to Sap…..

I see many are saying dump Sap and move horford to the 4. Well I just hope you all realize that Horford isn't the scorer Sap is and never will be! There are several things Sap does horford cannot on the offense end. In other words I think its absolutely absurd to dump Sap for a center other than Marc Gasol someone we are likely not to get!

As you can see in the playoffs we can't score! So you can't just get rid of sap for a traditional shot blocking, rebounding, 10 point center! We have to give a scorer for a scorer!

Scenario#1

My suggestion is to sign and trade Millsap for Kevin Love. To me Love and the Cavs don't have the chemistry and they  will be reluctant to give him a Max deal as he's shown through the season that he didn't earn it nor does he fit with the Cavs "Lebron drive & kick" offense and we all could tell he wasn't happy.

Cavs get: A cheaper better all around player in Millsap that would probably fit the Lebron drive and kick offense better than love and is a clear advantage on defense over love. Plus this will probably save them some money to get a build a better bench.

Hawks get: A player with a name which we so badly need! Someone who has or had the respect of the refs. A guy who you can give the ball to at tough times and he will drop buckets. Also a rebounding machine who's terrible defensively but all in all we have our franchise player! DO NOT be fooled by the Kevin Love of the Cavs they didn't run a true euro system as many predicted was going to be ran. Love literally never got the ball put in his hands as he barely had plays ran for him with ball hogs Lebron and Kyrie jacking up shots! So I still believe that Kevin Love who's offensively gifted can drop those ridiculous numbers and still be the player he once was but better in an actual spurs like system! Having a guy like the T-Wolves Love will take the pressure off of the offense when the offense gets stagnant but all at the same time provide a ton of help around an very gifted all around offensive player who has gained the respect of the refs back in his T Wolve days.

Lebron kills every PF he's ever played with. Bosh never got the ball in his hands either like the Bosh in Toronto! If you play with Lebron its going to happen…..I say hawks get love as this would be the best team he's ever been surrounded with and he has the offensive gifts this system need with the ability to spread the Floor or score in the paint and he's a really good passer….Defense yes would be the problem but at least we have ourselves a franchise scorer again.

Scenario#2

My second suggestion is this…..If the hawks can't pull a S&T for love, go extremely hard after Greg Monroe and Gerald Green.

pg-Teague

sg-korver

sf-demarre

pf-horford

c-monroe

Bench will be athletic as hell with Dennis, Bazemore, Gerald Green along with defense specialist Thabo.

In this Scenario I maybe the only one on the squawk that believes this but I know that Monroe would be a 20 point scorer in this system! I just have he sucks at defense but I believe he can definitely get better with the help of our coaches and the remaining team from the current roster.

Has Love done the player option for next year?  FA is going to be crazy the next 2 off seasons with so many players entering the market because of the way they ended their contracts to hit with the salary cap bump.  Cleveland is pretty much setup for this season and next ... they've only got a couple of people signed past that so they have a slim window.  If Love comes back it probably wouldn't take alot to see him on the trade floor.

No but its expected that he opts out……not necessarily because he wants to leave the cavs as most of us are assuming but because Love can make more money regardless if he opts out and resign with the cavs or opts out and sign with a different team.
