Tiago Splitter on the block?

According to multiple league sources, the Spurs have made center Tiago Splitter available for trade, in hopes of shedding from the books the $8.5 million he is due next season.

Trade, Tiago Splitter, San Antonio Spurs

Wonder if that means they think they have the inside track on LMA? They've been saying all offseason he's not on the block, and now change their mind.

Also, for us I would only be interested if we strike out with LMA and Gasol, and are also unable to bring back Millsap.

Wanted Splitter two years ago I think. Whenever he was a free agent. Still would like him, but his price tag is a little high.

Am I the only one who started getting suspicious when Korver began losing some productivity in post-season?

OOPS... didn't mean to miss the other thread...

I wish we could afford him, but I'd be happy if we went after Jordan Hill at some point, provided we lose out on Gasol and Millsap. I would think LMA is probably going to SA, as mentioned above by @RandomFan.

Thing is JHill made $9 mil last year.

True, but the Lakers aren't picking up their option, so I guess JHill will be a FA? We could somehow get him to sign for a bit less, who knows?

I wanted him last season also. Just seems like everyone is getting big bucks.

"...that $9 million price tag."

true, but since I'm not paying the bills, I don't really care.  It's an expensive league.  If our new ownership could figure out/finagle a way to keep our core + get Splitter...that would be a pretty serious talent upgrade.

The hawks may have pushed for the surgery in order to soften the blow of moving All Star Kyle Korver to a better suited 6th man spot..this is a blessing in disguise now the younger players will have every opportunity to win the starting Sg spot.. Edited by LastDon

Uuummm, I don't think anyone pushes for surgery if not required.

If he's cleared to start the season, he'll start. But I see reduced minutes.
