Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young is another player which adidas invested heavily in at an early point in his career. Adidas' bet on Young paid off quickly. The polarizing point guard debuted his first signature sneaker during a raucous playoff series against the New York Knicks in 2021.

Somebody hep me.  I'm about to fight with some dudes on fakegm that're suggesting the Hawks succeeded in the playoffs in spite of Trae.  Citing percentages like typical non-basketball watchers.  I know what the numbers are but, having watched those games, I'm not sure how one can come to the conclusion that those teams would've won without Trae.

Clearly.  It's frustrating (which is probably why I shouldn't even bother discussing it there) because people put too much emphasis on the nimbers.... when it's convenient to their argument.
