How much clearer can he be that they don't want him and why would he still want to be there. I understand personal reasons but weird that he wants to be where they don't want him. Could be a weird confluence of competing smoke screens. If he's definitely getting dealt, his team should want the return package to be minimal so as not to deplete the destination. Call it the anti-Carmelo plan or the Lame Lillard protocol. As such, there could be some benefit to him to depress the market by saying he won't re-sign. 5

Why does Siakam love the Canadias so much. Free health care, beautiful scenery, what’s goin on? He can’t love the snow ? Probably appeal in the city and his family's situation but to me the fact that no one can pay him as much as Toronto can is what leaps out.

Somebody depressing his value, somebody mentioning more teams There must be someone in the Toronto FO that is dragging their feet. They just want to bleed us dry before giving in Or we could bleed them! Just wait for Masai and Siakam to publicly exchange words and we are set to go! 1

He pretty much acknowledged moving them for more playing time on another team is better for them and for us. He don't want our roster to be bare when he gets here. Carmelo trade bled the Knicks assets so he ended up on a worse team by forcing a trade. Lillard is hoping to avoid that via his trade demand also.

Gray Mule
TELLING IT LIKE IT IS: You go to team A and ask, "Would you like John Doe on your team?" Team A replies, "Yes, if the price is right." Then you can report to everyone: "Team A is intrested in player John Doe!" Siakam has so many teams who would like to have him! Ain't it the truth !!

Premium Member Popular Post JayBirdHawk Posted July 11, 2023 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted July 11, 2023 Pascal Siakam trade rumors heat upAside from the Heat’s fantasy of getting a Damian Lillard trade done with the Blazers during this next week in Las Vegas, many conversations pertaining to trades we may see develop spiral back to the Toronto Raptors. Fred VanVleet’s departure did come as a shock to many within the Raptors organization, sources said, and there is a sense that more moves are on the horizon for Toronto. Scottie Barnes is not going anywhere anytime soon, as the Raptors intend on him being the future of the organization. Pascal Siakam would like to remain with Toronto and has made his intentions of wanting to sign a contract extension clear over the last year.No extension talks have been held as Siakam continues to be the center of attention in calls the Raptors are receiving, sources said. The Atlanta Hawks have been the main driving force in trade conversations pertaining to the Raptors’ All-Star forward, and both Sportsnet's Michael Grange and NBA insider Marc Stein recently reported that the Indiana Pacers have joined the bidding for Siakam. The Raptors, however, league sources told ClutchPoints, are not necessarily sold on the idea of trading their star big man right now. If a deal were to happen, the Raptors are looking to bring back young talents who can play alongside the likes of O.G. Anunoby and Barnes moving forward. Every team in the league covets first-round draft picks, but Toronto is not looking to rebuild whatsoever. This is where things have not balanced for Toronto, as trading Siakam may not ultimately make them better. 2 2
