FO don't mess this up...

We still don't have a good enough defense to stop the elite teams from imposing their will or draining 3's.

Marcus Smart
Alex Caruso

Get one of those two and that helps a ton... We need some more defensive wings because we all can see how much Dre helps.

There is some holes right now with Bey and Capela. Bogi is suspect too... we can certainly find a comparable 3 point shooter with good defense in exchange of Bogi.

We still need size, defense and depth.

Hawks have a tiny % of this in their Skyhawks team.  Getting them healthy and ready.  These players may come into the puzzle if there is a major trade or two.  This may or may not happen.  Trade deadline now many hours away.

I think you're blind if you say that Capela is a defensive weakness.   If used correctly, he's one of our defensive strengths.   Here's the thing about defense... Defense is a team undertaking.  You need a team to play good defense.  1 or 2 players is not going to do it.   We don't have three people playing good defense.   Sorry.. we don't.   So we're not one player away or even two players away.

What we need to do is learn to embrace what we are until we can become more defensive.  What we are is an offensive force.   Everybody talks about how many points the Clipps scored on us.  Did you notice, how many points we scored on them?

They are #9 in team defense.   They get high steals, blocks, turnovers.   They give up on the average 112 ppg.   In a regulation game, we put up 144 points and we shot 53.7% from the field.  We crushed this very good defense and we didn't have our best rebounder.  If Clint had played and we had more possessions, we would have won.    If JJ doesn't play like ass, we would have won.   And they are the best team in the league right now.

We should take our cues from teams like the Lakers (showtime) and the Kings (webber years) and embrace being able to score and figure out how to get one or two timely stops.   What will end up happening is we will try to trade to become this great defensive team and we will find ourselves in another 10 year rebuild because we don't know how to do that.   We will always be looking for the right this or the right that.  We can develop what we have... Trade if it makes sense.. but don't trade away valuable players becuase you think it will make us better defensively.  No one player will.

Agreed! Not one player can make us a good defensive team. It’s a culture that has to be bought in to. Effort, communication, toughness, resilience, and CONFIDENCE
