  1. I wouldn't go that far but let's just say I'm glad the Hawks didn't trade Teague away. Dennis clearly needs more time to develop before he can be a dependable PG.
  2. Oh yes he should. We could use Jamal Crawford as well. Heck, we need anybody that excels at putting the ball in the basket without being spoon fed.
  3. But can you blame them? Last season's ECF was the worst I have ever seen, and that's coming from a Hawks fan.
  4. Wow. When you say it like that it does sound pretty pathetic. This team needs a strong leader in the worst way.
  5. I said at the beginning of this season that this team will ALWAYS default to soft as long as the current leadership is there. Last night was inexcusable. But the season is NOT over yet. I'm pretty sure this season will end in frustrating fashion, but I can't help but think they won't completely embarrass themselves like they did in the ECF.
  6. I love the optimism, but the Hawks need to be worried about getting out of the East first. Golden State is as dominant as any team I've seen. It was strange seeing the Spurs look outmatched despite their best efforts while the Warriors looks like they were just having fun.
  7. We already crossed that line a long time ago. Any future threads about Teague or Schröder playing well or poorly will turn into a 'vs' debate at some point in the thread. But to answer the second part of your post, people forget that Teague was battling some pretty serious ankle issues right in that December to January time frame that coincided with his average play. He played through it (albeit poorly) and down played the seriousness of his injury in the media.
  8. Look up Floyd Dent to see just how ludicrous the corruption can get. It was bad enough he was beaten senseless for no reason, but I couldn't believe my eyes when the police officer pulled a bag of crack out of his own pocket, IN FRONT OF OTHER POLICE OFFICERS, and said he found it in Floyd Dent's car. Not one of them said a word. Not one. And of course the official report included a drug possession charge. If it wasn't for the dashcam video, which they obviously thought was turned off, Dent would be in prison right now.
  9. I agree but the taxpayers will end up footing the bill. That's why the NYPD continues to behave the way they do despite how many brutality suits they settle. There is no real accountability. Heck, plain clothes NYPD just arrested a mailman while he was delivering a package because he yelled at them after they almost hit him while exiting his truck. They used the same, "Stop resisting!!!!", tactics and everything. This is a FEDERAL employee in uniform we are talking about. Nothing will change.
  10. I think people forget how much of a BEAST Iverson was. He was barely 6' and dominated at times. I know he was a little rough around the edges for some, but I never questioned whether he was going all out on the court.
  11. It's relevant because they have as good a chance as anybody in the East besides the Cavs to make it out of the East.
  12. Commentators said the same thing about the Hawks last season.
  13. Everything he said about Shanny was right though. He just said what everyone already knew.

    Better coach

Stevens is doing more with less talent.
  15. Punchface or not, this dude is legit. Great pick up Bud.
  16. He still has game left. I didn't understand why he was fazed out last season and I don't understand why they cut him now. Now I'm seeing that they cut him via text message? Stay classy ATL.
  17. And that is complete BS to be honest. They tried their hardest to give us the crappiest pick possible, but now they look like they are tanking just to give the Celts a top 3 pick. I know it's not intentional but something about that doesn't sit right with me.
  18. He was actually good as a Hawks player but he absolutely had a punchable face. If we're not limited to basketball, I'd have to add Jeff George to that list.
  19. Not really. At least not as punchable as Humphries or the undisputed #1 Alan Anderson.
  20. Yes, he's one of those guys that you know you don't like before he says one word. I can't explain it because I'm not sure if he's ever really done anything but play ball and keep his mouth shut.
  21. Thank you for using that word correctly.
  22. Well he is a decent rebounder.
  23. Please elaborate on this. I'm not sure it's fair to make one man responsible for this team's history of mediocrity. He came to this team when nobody else wanted to and made the Hawks better. There was absolutely no reason for the fans to boo Joe Johnson. What made it worse was the fact he refused to say one negative word in return.
  24. The fans booed JJ mercilessly whenever he came back here for reasons unknown. It would be hard to not take that personal. I'd be REALLY surprised if he came back.
